Miriam Pisanelli Obituary
POUGHKEEPSIE - Miriam Pisanelli, 87, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on July 5, 2014 in the River Valley Nursing Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was born in Des Plaines, Illinois on March 22, 1927, the daughter of Russell & Miriam Rode Steinken. She married Jerry J. Pisanelli on February 9, 1946 in St. Peter's Church Poughkeepsie, NY. He predeceased her on July 27, 2003. Miriam was employed at Dutchess Community College as a bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Peter's Church, Past Pres. of Violet Avenue School PTA, past member of Whispering Pines Golf Club where she had a hole- in- one and a member of Club 60 in the Town of Poughkeepsie, NY. Survivors include her daughter & husband: Kathleen & Tony Cabiedes of Sparks, Nevada: sons and wives: Gerard & Diane Pisanelli of Beacon, NY; David & Nancy Pisanelli of Staatsburg, NY; sister-in-law: Luanne Steinken; brother Russell Steinken both of Des Plaines, Illinois; brother-in-law: Peter Wasmund of Memphis, Tenn. Grandchildren include: Amanda, Rebeca, Karen, Robert, Amy, Brian, Charles, Kristen, Mark and Christian. There are 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Miriam was predeceased by 2 brothers: Fred & James Steinken and 2 sisters: Dorothy Wasmund, Shirley Ross and sister-in-law: Ellen Steinken. Visitation will be held at Wm. G. Miller & Son FH, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 on July 10, 2013 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Parish, 299 Hudson View Dr., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 on Friday at 10 AM.
