Nicholas Spano Obituary
POUGHKEEPSIE - Nicholas A. "Nick" Spano, 43, a resident of Poughkeepsie for 15 years and formerly of Yonkers and Yorktown, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 6, 2014.
Nick was born in Yonkers on January 27, 1971. An employee of the Westchester County Parks Department for over 19 years, Nick was employed as the Park Foreman for the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Shomokin Rod & Gun, Inc. in Phoenicia. Most of all, Nick enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Nick is survived by his parents, Anthony and Cynthia (Midgley) Spano of Hillsdale; his sisters, Lucia Riccardi, Elizabeth Simonetti, Rosemarie Bolster, Anne Montanarella, Mary Schrader, Antonia Bravado, Dorothea McHugh, Joyce Esposito, and Cynthia Pisano; his brothers, Leonard Spano, Joseph Spano, William Spano, and Frank Spano; his grandmother, Mildred Midgley of New London, CT; his 24 nieces and nephews; his 5 great-nieces and great-nephews; his companion, Montelle Falconi; and many friends.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 - 7 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment at St. Denis Cemetery.
