Peter W. Calvelli

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Peter W. Calvelli, 49, left us unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Born in Mount Vernon, NY, Peter lived in Wappingers Falls, NY before moving to Bridgewater 7 years ago. Peter was a Vice President of IT Finance for Goldman Sachs in NYC.

Peter is predeceased by his father, Samuel Calvelli. He is survived by his wife Martina F. (Carufe) Calvelli of Bridgewater; children, Daniel Peter Calvelli, Rachel Elisabeth Calvelli and Sarah Anne Calvelli all of Bridgewater; mother, Angela (Aparo) Calvelli of Wappingers Falls, NY, sisters, Linda Calvelli of Tampa, Florida, Deb and her husband Gieniu Patora of Salt Point, NY. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephew, brother and sister-in-laws and many family and friends.

Peter was a devoted husband and father who was loved by many. He enjoyed a good cigar, and ride on his motorcycle and time with his family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 4-7 PM at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. A Funeral Mass will be offered 10AM on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 1890 Washington Valley Road, Martinsville, NJ 08836. Burial will follow at Cold Springs Cemetery, 36 Peekskill Road, Cold Springs, NY 10516.

Peter, I miss you brother, I know it's been a long time. My prayers have been offered up to the Calvelli family.
Peter, "The Rockingham family" & myself included had some of the best times growing up in the old neighborhood.
We used to jam in the basement, garage, or back porch @ 17 Carroll Dr. Whenever we could get together , we did. I look forward to meeting up with Peter in heaven so we could play 1 more song in the "Big Gig in the sky", till then we meet again, I'll have a cigar for you.

So sorry for your loss. I came across this while visiting my cousin Bill Schultz (22) today buried in Cold Spring, NY as well. I attended Ketcham buzz with Pete and worked at Shoprite with him briefly my senior year `80. Great guy.

2 things that i will never forget about Pete. First, like it was yesterday. I remember when the Dallas Cowboys beat the Minnasota Vikings with the famous Hail Mary pass in the playoffs. We were all so excited we ran into the street to reinact the play over and over. it was a great day.Second, When we were all about to go to Van Wyck Jr High School, we all looked like babies. Short, skinny, and under developed. Not Pete. He already had a mustache, and was about 6 feet tall. We were all a little scared going to the next level of our education, but not Pete.And, Because we from Rockingham knew him, we had it a little easier. he was like everybodys big brother, and a good one at that. I remember getting out of several jams by just saying his locker was close to mine and he was my friend. When the day comes for me to leave this earth, it is a compfort to know when I am met at the gate, I can say. I know Pete Calvelli. "Pete go long".

Peter will be soarly missed. I did know his family Deb and his parents Angela and the late Sam Calvelli. I know his family will miss him tremendously. I remember when Deb told me Peter was working in NYC when 9/11 occured. She could'nt reach him due to cell poles being inoperative. Then she got the call she was waiting for the call from Peter. He was coming home and he was ok. Peter survived that but not this, life just doesn't seem fair sometimes. Please know I am praying for his wife and children. Angela, I know a parent is not suppose to bury her child. Unimaginable pain. Deb I know we have not seen each other in awhile but please know I am with you and praying for you and your family.
