Todd Snyder Obituary

Todd Snyder

On Wednesday April 7th, 2021, Todd Snyder, age 59, passed away unexpectedly in Savannah, GA.

Todd was born on June 20, 1961 in Poughkeepsie, NY to Herbert and Georgianna (Moshier) Snyder. He grew up in Wappinger Falls, NY, graduated from Roy C Ketcham High School, and went on to attend Pace University receiving a degree in computer science. He spent his professional years at Manufacturers Hanover, Pitney Bowes and then Service-Now where he became a Senior Analyst Consultant. Todd was married to the love of his life, Alison Buckley in 2008. They were together until her sudden passing in March of 2011. Todd was a resident of both Savannah, GA and Roscoe, NY. Savannah was new, exciting, and warm, while Roscoe provided the comfort of home, "Trout Town USA", where he planned his future Airbnb, catering to the avid fisherman.

Todd loved to have a good time, wherever he was and no matter who he was with. He enjoyed the outdoors and one of his favorite pastimes was fly fishing. He participated in birding with the GA conservatory and felt at home on a ski mobile in fresh snow. He volunteered in his spare time, most recently at a distillery that had changed its focus to producing and bottling sanitizer during the pandemic. Remembered by family and friends "Part wise older brother, part annoying younger brother, you had a unique ability to be both lovable and infuriating at the same time." "He was one of the good guys in this world, super positive, great sense of humor, good role model for humanity." "He hit Savannah like a mild hurricane and quickly made life-long pals like he'd been your friend forever." "He was a true professional and a great mentor." He was known by all for his tough exterior, but more importantly his kind heart, which all knew firsthand.

Todd was preceded in death by his father Herbert, mother Georgianna, his wife Alison and his beloved German shepherd Natasha. Todd is survived by his brother Thomas and his wife Lynn of CT, his brother Timothy and his partner Joy DeNitto of NY, his niece Kate (Tom) Gada and nephew Jacob (Elizabeth) Snyder, both from CT, niece Erin (Michael) Hutchinson of WA and nephew Ryan Toth of IN, and many friends he considered family.

A Celebration of Life will be held later, please send an email to [email protected] to be notified when more details are made available.

I got to know Todd in August 2018 when we were both traveling on a small group tour of Norway. My friend Becky and I really enjoyed chatting with him and he helped Becky find one of her relatives' homes. He was a good guy, still missing his wife who had died very suddenly.

I came to know Todd through his wife Alison Buckley whom I met at Teatown Lake Reservation. Todd, Alison, my husband Dan, and I became good friends. I did not learn of his passing till today 2/5/22. When his phone was no longer in service and he didn't respond to my emails, I just knew that something had happened.
Todd and Alison were special individuals and an amazing couple. We had some wonderful times with them. Todd's sense of humor, his love of fishing, his goodness and attachment to his dog Natasha made him one of a kind. He is missed.
We extend our sympathy to his family and may he be at peace with Alison.
