Aaron DeRigo Obituary
Binghamton: Aaron Ralph DeRigo, 31, went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2014. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Loia Juanita Harder and grandfather, Alfonse DeRigo. He is survived by his loving parents, Ralph and Paula DeRigo; brothers, Brad (Gabby), Justin (Steve), and Corey (Bri); special nephew, Domenico DeRigo; grandfather, Richard Harder; grandmother, Antoinette DeRigo; aunts and uncles, Judy Santucci, Richard (Ann), Jack (Lisa), Terry (Madeline), Mark (Michelle) Harder, Marie and Hy Plimpton, John and Shiela DeRigo, Christina and Paul Rollo, Nancy and Lynn Paige; godmother, LuAnn DeMartino; one and only love, Sheena DeMartino; and numerous cousins and friends who loved him dearly. He also leaves behind his loyal dog, Peanut. Aaron never met a person he didn't like. He was a kind, giving person who would literally give his last dollar to help someone less fortunate than him. His family and friends consider themselves lucky to have had Aaron in their lives for the time that he was here. We take comfort in the fact that God has a special plan for him. Go Aaron, soar with the angels. Funeral services will be 7PM Thursday January 23, 2014 at the DeMunn Funeral Home 36 Conklin Ave., Binghamton with Rev. Michael Meagher officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5 to 7PM.

Aaron brought a lot of smiles to peoples faces in his life. As a teacher in Binghamton's EBE Program, I had nothing but fond memories of Aaron. I hope that the family is aware that there are a lot of people who are praying for them as they try to cope with such a loss. Paula, Ralph, Brad, Justin and Corey, I am so sorry for the loss of your precious Aaron. No parent should ever have to bury their child. He was so sweet, kind, gentle and always quick to lend a hand. When I would see him, he would say, "Aunt Judy, If you need any help with anything, just call me and I'll come over and help you out and you don't have to pay me either." He had a heart of gold and a smile that lit up the room. Aaron was a beautiful person, inside and out. Take comfort in the fact that he is in Heaven hanging out with his Nanny and Grandpa Al and playing with Bubba. He will be watching over his family members until we all meet again. I am so sorry for the loss of Aaron.I have known you all for more then half my life! I am deeply saddened by Aarons passing and I cannot imagine what all of you are going through. No words will make it better or take away any of this unbearable pain. Aaron was unique and fiercely loyal. The older we got, the less we saw eachother ...but any time we'd cross paths, he always extended a hand and brought me in for a hug and made me feel like a best friend. I know he was like that for most everyone and that made him so special.

I only got to be near Aaron for a short time in my life but he left a large impact on my heart. I will always remember our legendary whiffle ball games at DeRigo Park on High Street. Aaron, I could tell right away he was special. A great kid with lightning speed and was always up for a game. His infectious smile will be in our hearts forever. And he also loved my wife's cookies she would make for the boys after games. Now he will be reuniting with Alfonse up in heaven and I can hear Alphonse now; did Nick's dad ever get his own toolbox?
