To all of you who have written,
Thank you for your kind words and sympathy. The loss of our uncle has left a void in our lives. He will be forever missed by those of us who loved him as a second DAD. We looked to him for advice, guidance and a good laugh. RIP Father Jim.

Today my Christmas card to Father Jim came back with the word "deceased" on it and I will be brokenhearted for a while. When I was in college, Fr. Jim was the first person to encourage me to teach about Jesus on an Antioch weekend, despite a migraine headache. He would also pray for me with his arms outstretched while I was speaking on the many Antioch retreats we did together after that. He inspired me to go into full time lay ministry when there was no such thing.
That same year Fr. Jim also appeared at my door on his way to the beach saying, "YOU'LL never guess why I'm here!" To which I replied, "No. YOU'LL never guess why you are here!" You see, I had been praying for help with an extremely important decision. Fr. Jim gave me just the right counsel. I could go on and on with more stories, since he provided guidance on so many other occasions as well. He was like an older brother, a mentor, a friend and a spiritual companion all rolled into one. Fr. Jim officiated (alongside Bishop Harrington) at my wedding to John. He bought us a last supper print even before we knew we loved each other. The print has hung in our dining area for 37 years since. He was at our first daughter's baptism...
I think I will stop with one of my favorite Jim Fallon sayings that rolled out of his mouth every time we went down to the beach together. First he would take off his shoes and then he would run down to the water exclaiming, "My father owns this place!" So I have been doing the same thing myself for many years, minus the running part, as I get older.
Thank you so much for keeping this guest book open for a straggler like me. I will also post a couple of my favorite photos of Fr. Jim. I am sorry that I did not know sooner so that I could say some of this in person. Please allow me to borrow a prayer for you and for Fr. Jim, "For I am certain that nothing can separate us from (God's) love: neither death nor life... neither the present or the future, neither the world above or the world below... there is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus.. [and, I dare say, through James Fallon]. Amen

Father Fallon had such a great spiritual impact on so many lives, particularly the students at St. Anthony Catholic School in Florence, SC. My husband Terry and I always looked forward to him making a visit to our home in Florence, SC when he was on his way to Key West, FL. Our children were blessed to know him, but there were many other children that he blessed during those visits. He said Mass at our Friday morning mass at St. Anthony Catholic School in Florence a couple years ago. Father Fallon taught the children a special song that day that they have never forgotten and neither did the teachers. He delivered a homily that day that had everybody talking and feeling the spirit. Everyone felt so blessed to have him share a special mass with us that day. Even though we are all saddened by his death, we are comforted knowing that he is living an eternal life with Christ. Father Fallon, our children will miss your awesome stories and Terry and I will always remember your impactful spiritual advice. We will miss you!

My memory goes back to childhood with Father Fallon. I remember loving to recieve communion from him bcause he always smiled and would sometimes give you a pat on the head. And when he laughed everyone near him lit up too. He often said that the "Gurn Girls" were his best audience. I guess because we were in constent laughter with him (even when we tried to be serious)! I love and miss you Father Fallon, Godspeed.

Father Jim Fallon had the gift of making everyone feel special. As a teacher, his classes were fun and exciting. As a priest, his masses were an experience to be treasured. And as a friend, he was always 100% "there". What I loved most about Fr. Jim was his spontaneous and contagious laugh. I can only imagine his joy of being reunited with his Savior and loved ones in heaven!

Father Fallon was more than a priest. He was a spiritual leader, a guiding light and a loyal friend who always brought perspective and clarity to every situation good or bad. His amazing personality and incredible sense of humor gave him an uncanny ability to truely connect with everyone he met. He married me and my wife Jennifer in 1990 and to this day people who were there always ask about "that awesome priest". He made everyone feel so warm and welcomed that day...just as I'm sure Jesus is making him feel today in Heaven.
Father Fallon you will be sorely missed.

Father Fallon,
Thank you for your love and guidance. You made the world a better place simply by being in it. You made our Key West wedding one we will never forget. And most recently you were someone I turned to for advice and comfort when my father passed away, four months ago. You will be sadly missed here, but surely reunited with your parents and the Lord.
