Kathryn H. Pflanz
of Kirkwood
Kathryn H. Pflanz, 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9, 2006. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Elizabeth Bonney; and a sister, Mary. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Robert F. Pflanz Sr., children, Robert and Dawn Pflanz Jr., Michael Pflanz, Bonnie and George Newberry, Richard and Robin Pflanz, Donna and Joseph May; grandchildren, Crystal, Joshua, Theresa, Miles, Tony, Noelle, Dakota and Demi; great-grandchildren, Austyn, Alexis, Carter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Humbert Panella, Theresa and Vincent Tropea, Patricia and Fred Rakiski, Barbara Bonney; brothers and sisters-in-law, David (Pete) Bonney, William and Marge Bonney, Sylvester (Fra) and Jean Bonney, James and Kathy Bonney; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Jane and Robert Kohlbrenner, Margaret and Wiley Jones, Elmer Pflanz; several nieces and nephews. She was employed at Binghamton University for 23 years. Katie was a longtime member of St. Mary's of Kirkwood Church. Katie and Bob were members of the Shirts N' Skirts Square Dance Club. Katie enjoyed her many years of work and support of the Republican party. Katie was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Katie was also known as the "candy lady" at Jimay's flea market.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at 9:00 at St. Mary's Church of Kirkwood with Rev. Thomas Catucci officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, June 12, 2006, at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, N.Y., from 2-4 and 7-9. In lieu of flowers, in Katie's memory, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association, 356 N. Midler Avenue, Syracuse, N.Y. 13206.
