So many times I would think, that as one of nine kids my life would have been tough. At one point, there were seven kids, Mom & Dad and we lived in a one bedroom apartment, people would say that i had a tough life. We walked everywhere, because Mom didn't drive and sometimes we gathered money by cashing in bottles and raiding the kids piggy banks, so we could buy bread for lunch, maybe we were poor?
Yet when I think back on my family, I only remember the laughter, the smiles, the adventures. Just going shopping with my Mom was fun. There was always a new craft, idea or adventure brewing. Building our own house, moving upstate with 9 kids who went to 5 different schools, just another adventure. And how about the parties, any excuse to gather and have a good time. Mom didn't know can't, don't or won't....just try, do and go.
I look at my siblings and see so much of Mom in all of us, but mostly this spirit of adventure. Mom is on a new journey and I am sure that she has given us all wings to fly on ours.
Fly high Mom.
Love forever and for always, Pat
