Richard Henry Obituary
Bainbridge—Richard James Henry, 60, tragically passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from injuries sustained in an truck accident. Rich was born on March 31, 1955 in Sidney, son of James and Thelma (Clock) Henry. He attended Afton Central School. Rich was an active member of his community. He belonged to the Sidney Elks Lodge 2175, the Bainbridge Lions Club and the North Afton United Methodist Church. He was a cub master for Cub Scout Pack 52 and also enjoyed coaching youth sports. He was a hard worker, and was employed as a truck driver for Coventry Transport for several years. Rich deeply loved his family and will be missed by: his wife, Cathy (Bolster) Henry; two sons, Rich Henry, Jr., (Jakena) and Lance Henry (Tosha); six grandchildren: Corbin, Raven, Owen, Tori, Haiden and Carter; sister, Kathy Cower; brother, Roger Henry; special uncle, Eugene Rapuzzi; nieces: Wendy Stulir "Sis", Brenda Decker "B" and Julie Verdon "Bug"; and grandnieces and nephews: Caleb Stulir, Connor Decker, Hailee Coughlin and Brianna Coughlin. He was predeceased by his father, Jim Henry of Afton, his mother, Thelma Nichols of Deposit, his in-laws, Clarence and June Bolster, and a special aunt, Jean Rapuzzi. Friends are invited to call from 3:00-7:00pm on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney. A memorial service will begin at 7:00pm with Rev. Fred Albrecht officiating. Memorial donations may be directed to the Bainbridge Lions Club, PO Box 273 Bainbridge, NY 13733. Condolences and memories may be shared online at www.landersfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.

To Richards Family-As you know He was a great man.I am one of the farmers who was blessed to have known Him. As many have said he always had a positive impact on those who knew him. For me I knew Richard as a man of God. He would always ask about my missions trips and we engaged in many Godly conversations. He was a Rock in this world someone who could be depended on. I am grateful for the time I spent talking to Richard at this past alumni reunion. We talked alot about family and raising children. It was refreshing to hear a man speak so lovingly about his wife and family. Richard was definitely one of the "good guys" who was a joy to spend time with. Cathy, What a shock it was to hear of this on Tuesday. He was such a huge impact on all of us "kids" growing up. Cub Scouts, Youth Sports, Church Youth Group - you name it he was there. Many lessons he taught us we continue to pass along to our families and for that we will never forget. Thoughts and prayers going out to the family in this difficult time.

It always amazed me how a man with such a strong handshake could have such a soft and caring personality... When I think of my days playing youth sports he is the first coach I think of... although over the most recent years I would only see him a time or two per year - whenever I did it was always a great pleasure catching up with him. I know I will never have your handshake Rich but I will certainly strive to having a kind and caring heart like yours..
