Robert Bub Obituary
Robert (Bob) Bub, age 85, of Leesburg, Florida died unexpectedly Friday March 20, 2015. Bob was born August 15, 1929 in Poughkeepsie, New York. Bob was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and Salutatorian of the class of 1956 at Cortland State. He served in the Army during World War II as a lab technician in the Pentagon and retired from Greene Central School where he had a long and fulfilling career as a physical education teacher, wrestling and track and field coach while finishing his career in administration. Bob married Alma Beardsley of Marathon, NY in 1976 and moved to Florida in 1982. Bob was previously married to Joan (Becker) Smith of Greene, NY whose union led to his four surviving sons: Keith, Kurt, Karl and Kevin Bub; eight grandchildren and his two brothers Richard J. and Lt. Col Ronald L. Bub. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank D Sr. and Christine E. (Lent) Bub; his wife Alma and brother Frank D. Bub Jr. in 2014. Bob was a very good friend. While I was in college he would proof read my papers and we had great discussions. He even bought me a sweater for Christmas one year. I met him when I stayed with his wife Alma back in 1972. She and my mom were best friends.
