April 13, 2024 ... it's been 17 years since my dad (Clarence 'Buster' 'Mac' McCoy) died. He & Tom were good friends at IBM, working in the same cubicle, going to lunch, and sometimes golfing together. I went with them occasionally. Tom wasn't a very good golfer, but he sure did illicit a lot of laughs! A very funny, jovial guy, I can still see his smiling face even after all these years. I was sitting in our living room here in Tennessee reminiscing about my dad, and it came to me, "I wonder if his good friend Tom is still alive?" Now I know. They've both entered eternity and most likely have met up again!

My deepest sympathies to all the Cheevers Clan. Having known your entire family for those short years on Johnson Ave I felt so blessed to have known each and every one of your family. Your dad was always friendly, cheerful and giving of his time and self. How each of you has grown to be a spectacular adult lends credence to his faith and kind personality. To this day I feel blessed to have been neighbors with you all. Will keep your dad, and all of you, in my prayers.

Warm Summer Sun

Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.

To the entire Cheever's Clan...I have so many fond memories of my younger days in the Cheever's household that include your dad. He always was so welcoming and had a way about him that didn't make you want to leave. So sometimes I didn't for days... ODC treated me like one of his own and I will forever remember his kind and loving nature. May his never-ending smile and the sound of his laughter remain in your hearts. My love and prayers are with you all. xxoo

KK and Family, I was deeply sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I was planning on going up to pay him a visit this week. Tom was a sweet man and my neighbor for a few years. He always loved it when I would cook and take him things for dinner. He looked forward to me coming over to plant flowers for him. Tom, R.I.P. my friend.
