Wendy Sutton Obituary

Wendy A. Briscoe Sutton Jr.

Wendy A. Briscoe Sutton Jr., 60 left this crazy world on Monday December 07, 2020, along with her beloved dog, Kasey in an unexpected house fire. She was predeceased by her husband Glenn Jr, whom she loved deeply and missed very much, parents James/Rita Briscoe, sister Denise Briscoe, and many extended family members. She is survived by her sister Mary Briscoe May (James), cousin Mary Ann Egan (Paul), mother in law Faith Sutton, sister in law Tammy Kintner (Morris) and very special friend, Jesse Nickerson.

Wendy graduated from BCHS in 1978, attended Broome community college and later in life studied and received honors learning to become a phlebotomist. She derived great pleasure in supporting and caring for individuals with developmental disabilities working for Broome Developmental services for 28 years. Later in life she worked for Harpursville School District until retirement. Wendy had a great sense of humor, she loved a hearty laugh, even it was herself she she was laughing about. She loved to cook and was a wonderful baker, making homemade cookie trays for her friends, family and neighbors especially during the Holiday seasons. She was so grateful for her neighborhood community in Harpursville, NY as they kept an eye on her after her husbands passing. She will will be missed by many as she was loved by many. Due to Covid precautions a celebration of life will be arranged next year when it is safe to do so. She was adamant about staying safe during the pandemic. Arrangements made by AEGIS CREMATION & FUNERAL SERVICES, 196 Clinton St. Binghamton, NY.

"When I die, give what's left of me away to children and old men that wait to die. And if you need to cry, cry for your brother walking the street beside you. And when you need me, put your arms around anyone and give them what you need to give me. I want to leave you something, something better than words or sounds, look for people I've known or loved, and if you cannot give me away, at least let me live in your eyes and not in your mind. You can love me best by letting hands touch hands, and by letting go of children that need to be free. Love doesn't die, people do. So, when all that's left of me is love, give me away."

Mary,
I am so sorry about the loss of your sister Wendy.
Wendy was generous. She shared her baked goods and candy that she made with those she worked with. We never knew what goody she was going to bring in.
Praying for God’s comfort for you and your family.
