I just learned of Dorothy's passing when my husband and I were up to Santa Rosa to visit our son. I am shocked and saddened. My heartfelt sympathies go out to her family. Dorothy was one of the closest friends of Jody Meehan, our son's godmother. She was also my Girl Scout counselor at Osito Rancho in the early 60's. Her youthfulness, love of life, compassion, and caring were so inspirational. She is forever in our hearts.

I was fortunate to teach with Dorothy at La Fiesta Elementary in Rohnert Park, Calif. She was an amazing third grade teacher and it was wonderful to watch her in action teaching her class. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to observe our fellow teachers and I learned a great deal watching Dorothy teach and interact with her students. She was a wonderful teacher but she was also an amazing human being. She will be missed by all of us that knew and loved her.
