Richard Hoffman Obituary

Richard Hoffman
December 29, 1958 - January 11, 2024
We are sad to announce the passing of Richard James Hoffman, 65, of Sebastopol CA. Richard passed away on January 11, 2024, surrounded by family.
Born December 1958, in San Rafael, CA, he was the son of Shirley Larsen and Paul Hoffman. He is survived by his Mother Shirley Larsen, his daughter Jennifer Jones, and his grandsons Jaden and Andre, his brothers Mike Hoffman (Barbara Hoffman) and Gary Hoffman (Renee Hoffman); Sisters Debbie Deas (Bob Deas), Sue Curtis (Ron Curtis), and Judy Nogleberg (Eric Nogleberg); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
His family moved to Sebastopol in 1966 where he spent his adolescent and teenage years growing up. He graduated from Analy High School in 1977. From a very young age, Richard knew he would find success through hard work and dedication to his job. At his first job at Christopherson Auto Body, he found a love for building, fixing, and creating things. He followed in the family's footsteps in 1979 when he began a career as a cabinet maker while working at his father's cabinet shop in Sausalito with his stepfather John Larsen and his Uncle Bill (Willie) Rosa. Richard had a vision and a dream to own his own cabinet shop. With the help of his loving mother and stepfather John Larsen (Pop), he was able to fulfill that dream. In 1984 he started his own custom cabinet shop, JR's Woodworks in Sebastopol, with the support of family, friends, amazing employees, and his daughter Jennifer, who at a very young age would go with Richard to the jobs and together they charmed the hearts of many customers. This history has helped Jennifer become a successful Mother and Salesperson today. Richard's masterful artistry of custom cabinet design was showcased in Better Homes magazine. Richard went on to run a very successful business for 35 years.
Richard's passion for life was contagious. He truly lived his life to the fullest, enjoying all the moments life has to offer. He was always the life of every party or event, full of laughter, jokes and loved music. His incredible energy and friendly personality made him such an enjoyable and likable guy. He enjoyed showcasing his work, spending time with friends and family, going to concerts, playing golf, and enjoying trips to Clearlake in the summers. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and former employees.
To honor Richard's memory, his family is holding a Celebration of Life at Wischemann Hall 465 Morris Street Sebastopol, CA 95472 Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 1-4 p.m.

I miss your goofy smile, I miss your hug, I miss everything about you. I miss our 6-hour shopping trips together mostly driving and listening to our favorite music, classic rock of course. Now I just look forward to sleeping because I can see you in my dreams. I will love you forever. All my love your sister Sue
