Robert BRASHARES Obituary

BRASHARES, Robert "Bob" May 16, 1927 - August 4, 2015 Reverend Dr. Robert M. Brashares died peacefully at home on August 4, 2015. He was a longtime advocate for peace and social justice, an early activist for civil rights, a conscientious objector in World War II, and served as a United Methodist minister for over 40 years. He led group tours to the Holy Land and traveled to many regions of the world. An avid hiker, for many summers he renewed his spirit in the Sierra Nevada. He is survived by his wife Lucinda; children, Bruce, Julia, June, and son-in-law, Woody; grandson, Nathan; granddaughter-in-law, Rebecca; and great-grandchildren, Odessa and Ezra. Memorial gifts may be made to: Sutter Hospice, Sierra Club, or Santa Rosa's First United Methodist Church Foundation for scholarships.
