Born in Southern CA to Delbert and Margaret Cahill Coon, Bob was the second of three children, born less than two years after his brother, Ken, and less than two years before his sister, Sue.

Bob graduated from Montgomery High School in 1969 and served in the U.S Air Force from 1970-76, stationed out of Travis AFB. From 1978-2009 he worked as an operating engineer with Union #3.

He is survived by his girlfriend Donna Jones, his companion and loved one of over 30 years, and her children Misty Jones and sons Ian and Kyle Tarver; Justin (Anna) Jones and son Koa Jones; and Shannen (D.J.) Jackson and their children Terrance, Jadon and Mason Jackson. He is also survived by his best friend of 50+ years, Larry Summerfield. Bob had two beloved dogs: Molly who survives him, and Maggie who predeceased him in 2020.

Bob and Donna enjoyed camping and hiking throughout California, and in later years, they would pack Molly into the car several times a week and drive to the beach to spend a day together.

Bob was predeceased by his father, Delbert, his brother, Ken, and his mother, Margaret; and by numerous aunts and uncles. He is survived by his sister Sue Cahill Buchmann (Michal), his sister-in-law Barbara, his niece Meredith Popoff (Jim), and his nephew Matthew Buchmann, along with numerous cousins. Great nephew and niece, Jake and Emma Popoff.

Bob was a sweet soul with a soft voice and a caring spirit. He loved his family and Donna and her family. He diligently wrote letters and cards to his extended family on holidays and birthdays. All who knew Bob are saddened by his passing but will remember Bob as a caring person.
