Shirlee Evans Obituary

Shirlee Anne Evans
April 11, 1938 - May 16, 2023
Shirlee Anne Evans passed away on May 16, 2023 at the age of 85.
Born to Italian parents, Ben and Mary Sciarra, on April 11, 1938, she spent all of her childhood in Cloverdale, CA, becoming the Cloverdale Citrus Fair Queen in 1956. During her childhood, she also became a talented accordion player.
In 1962, Shirlee and Allen married. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this year.
Shirlee was known to be a wonderful hostess, always adamant to feed her family and guests. She was a wonderful cook, brought upon from the thousands of raviolis she prepared with her mother as a young girl.
Shirlee was a social butterfly, as she was a member of many different organizations. Throughout her life she spent time in the Red Hat Society, Optimist International, National Federation of Republican Women, Santa Rosa Sailing Club, and Santa Rosa Nazarene Church. She made many friends during those years and always enjoyed getting together with those friends, as well as her sister-in-law, Miriam Dal Colletto and her spouse, Leon, for Tuesdays in the Plaza enjoying food and music in Healdsburg. When she wasn't hosting and spending time with friends and family, Shirlee enjoyed reading her mystery books.
Shirlee is survived by her husband, Allen B. Evans, Sr.; her children, Toni Evans Chase (Duke) and Allen Evans, Jr. (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Ashley Chase, David Chase and Justin Martin; and her great-grandchildren, Aidan and Jolene Sullivan. Her wicked sense of humor and fierce love for her family will be missed by her brothers-in-law, Julian Evans (Louise) and Leon Evans, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marie (Sciarra) Sozzoni.
A memorial service for Shirlee will take place at Santa Rosa Nazarene Church on June 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Allen, Jen, and the rest of the Evans family. Our family always enjoyed spending time with Shirlee at the holidays. The best part was seeing her big smile and receiving her wonderful hugs. You will be missed dear Shirlee.

Our deepest condolences to Al and all Shirlees' family. She was one of our parents ( Harry and Gloria Miller) oldest and most beloved friends. Marilou literally grew up around Al and Shirlee and I kind of did too! A wonderful woman who brightened everyones day and lived a wonderful life. I have personally never had a better Raviloi then Shirlees! God speed Shirlee!
