Felipe Rubio Memoriam

FELIPE D. RUBIO Lieutenant, Department of Corrections, Retired Felipe was born May 18, 1945 in San Bernardino, CA and passed away one year ago on October 29, 2009 at home in Riverside, CA. Felipe was called to Heaven to join his parents, Eduardo and Maria Guadalupe Rubio, his son John Rubio, his brother Francisco Rubio, sister-in-law Theresa Rubio and brother-in-law John Torcivia. Left behind is a family who miss him and think of him daily: his wife, Mary; sons, Robert, Francisco, Tomas; daughters, Anne, Amanda, Monet; his sisters, Christina Torcivia (Claremont) and Genevieve Livermore (Highland) and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Eduardo and Lydia (Philippines), Cesario (Oregon), Jose Antonio (Riverside), Tomas and Carol (San Bernardino), Panfilo (Phoenix, AZ), Maurice and Judy (Rialto), Patricio and Lynette (San Bernardino), Juan Miguel and Debra (Oregon), Carlos (and Judy who has since joined Felipe in Heaven) (San Bernardino), and Mario and Mary (Chicago, IL), and many loving nieces and nephews. Felipe is also missed by his many friends he kept in contact with after serving in the U.S. Army, the special bond he kept with childhood friends, and a warm shout out to the Rubio Raiders from his years at the California Department of Corrections who gave a special 21 gun salute a year ago at the mortuary, they were determined to send our beloved Felipe off with such dignity and respect they felt for him. Felipe for many years managed Little League Teams, enjoyed handball with friends, and active with the American Legion. Most important to Felipe was his love for his family who he surrounded himself with BBQ\'s, camping, fishing trips, golfing and metal detecting. He was known for his quick wit and helping all who needed it, for to him there was no real strangers. In March, brothers, sons, nephews and friends, planted a Plum tree in his memory at his favorite spot in Bishop which had become a once a year tradition to meet for fishing and good times. This has been a rough year without you my darling husband. You are always in our hearts and minds, your garden will never be the same, John Wayne movies are watched with your children competing to say your lines. "Would you go back and look like THIS, and only Mrs. Riley, thanks for the ....... it was the only way out."

I miss you Uncle! I miss your silly sarcasim and the snicker you'd make whenever you thought you got the better of someone. Watch over the family. We love you and will see you again eventually.

Felipe is missed all the way here in Windsor, Colorado. His phone calls and jokes and teasing, his serious talks about God, love of family.... God Bless you always Felipe and comfort your wife and children. Jim and Cindy (brother and sister in laws) Sherlock
