George Byron Thacker

George Byron Thacker, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed from his mortal journey peacefully surrounded by his dear family on December 26, 2023. He is survived by his wife Joan of 60 years, 2 sons, 3 daughters, their spouses, 25 grandchildren and his first great grandchild.George was born in Alliance, Nebraska, grew up in Kettering, Ohio, and moved to California in his teenage years. He attended Mark Keppel High School in Alhambra and California State University Los Angeles, where he played football on a scholarship. When he married and began to raise a family, they moved to Corona where he lived for 48 years on Chase and Thacker Drives.George was a Civil Engineer for 50 years in the water field, more than 20 years for the City of Corona. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings, blessing the lives of those he served.His funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 20th at 11:00 am, viewing at 10:00 am.
