Helen Wright Obituary

HELEN MARJORIE WRIGHT 87, of Corona, California, died July 31, 2011 peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Born October 24, 1923 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, daughter of H. Claude and Altabel Heard, she lived in Michigan and Phoenix, Arizona, before graduating from San Bernardino High School. She attended UC, Berkeley, and Whittier College where she received her teaching credential. She married W. Neal Wright in 1950 in Whittier, CA. Helen and family moved to Corona in 1968 where she taught kindergarten until she retired from the Corona-Norco Unified School District. She was a member of P.E.O. for 62 years and a 25-year Corona Regional Hospital volunteer. Her hobbies were gardening, crafts, reading, puzzles/games and traveling. Her husband, W. Neal Wright, preceded her in death. Her two daughters, Diane and Kathleen, survive her. Services will be held on August 19, 2011 at 11:15 a.m. at Riverside National Cemetery and a Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, of Corona, 809 S. Ramona Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to City of Hope - Glioma Study, attention: Gift Administration/Helen Wright, 1500 E. Duarte Rd., Duarte, CA 91010, www.cityofhope.org.
