Matthew Pusateri Obituary

MATTHEW JOSEPH PUSATERI Age 29, Hemet, California, son of Maureen Burke Pusateri and Donald Pusateri, both formally of Dunmore, PA , died tragically on New Year's Eve in a motor vehicle accident in Ontario, California. Matthew was a loving father to his nine-year-old son Matthew Jr. whom he adored and dedicated his entire life to. Matthew had an infectious laugh and his smile would always light up a room. His brilliant mind was always filled with ideas and dreams. He had an insatiable passion for life, and devoted his entire heart into everything he did. Matthew attended Hemet High School and was a proud member of the high school football and tennis teams. Matthew furthered his education as a graduate of the University of California Riverside. Matthew was a highly valued marketing analyst, working for Body Science Nutrition Company in Laguna Beach, California. Matthew loved spending time with his family, cousins and friends, in both California and Northeastern Pennsylvania. Matthew was an avid Dallas Cowboy football fan, LA Angel baseball fan, and always enjoyed music. There was no greater pleasure in Matthew's life than spending time with his beloved son Matthew Jr. Matthew loved teaching his son about life, and was simply a fantastic dad. Matthew leaves behind his former wife, Britney Todd Pusateri, of Temecula, California; his siblings John Pusateri and wife Jennifer of Hoboken, New Jersey; his sister Megan Pusateri of San Francisco, California and maternal grandmother Mary Lou Burke of Dunmore, PA. Also surviving are his maternal aunts and uncles Terrence and Eileen Burke Clarks of Summit, PA, Nancy and Sean Hanahue Clarks of Summit, PA, Ellen and Paul Byrne of Dunmore, PA, Thomas and Ruth Burke of Scranton, PA, Robert and Bridget Burke of Dunmore, PA, Matthew and Kristin Burke of Scranton, PA, Kathryn and Dr. Greg DeMeo of Wilmington, Delaware, and Anthony and Janice Pusateri Clarks of Summit, PA. Matthew is also survived by 34 cousins who loved him very much, and loved every minute of the precious time they had to spend with him. Matthew was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather John Vincent (Jack) Burke, his uncle Timothy Burke, cousin Shamus Hanahue, and paternal grandparents Mary and Anthony Pusateri. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 @ Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 26340 Soboba Street, Hemet California 92544. The family will receive friends between 9am and 10am prior to the Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers the Pusateri family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Shamus Foundation, 925 Northern Blvd., Suite 200, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
