I took typing class with Mr. Doerr at Norco HS. His son Joe was my good friend and later wrestling coach whom I've known since the early 70s. I was informed by his lovely wife (Jerilyn) that Joe passed away July 10, 2025 after a two year battle with cancer.

Dear Doerr Family.....
Your father was a wonderful, kind, humble man who touched so many lives, both young and old. It was a pleasure teaching with him and Harold and I loved bowling with both he and your mom. They were truly wonderful, special people. My sympathy to all of you......Sandy Fielding

He was my business machines teacher at NHS. Mr Doerr made it possible for me to get my AA in Business Administration with hopes of becoming a business teacher.

I loved sitting in Mr. Doerr's class... I wasn't the greatest typist, but he always made everyone feel like they were... Still to this day I remember him saying,"HOME KEYS", and his cute little swipe technique.. he will be greatly missed.

Mr. Doerr was my teacher for numerous business classes at Norco HS during the late 60's and early 70's and he was the Class of 1971's advisor...he was a wonderful man and fantastic teacher...40+ years later, I'm still using many of the skills he taught me!! I remember a kind and caring man - always there for his students - ready to listen or help you...my thoughts and prayers go to the Doerr family...RIP, Mr. Doerr...you will be missed!

Mr. Doerr gave so much to all the students and lives that he touched - he is missed and will never be forgotten. Among other things, I'll always remember his guidance, kindness and support - no matter what situations we teenagers got ourselves into. I also remember loving the smell of his pipe while driving home from the As baseball games. Special thoughts and prayers for his family at this time and always.

Mr. Doerr was my all-time favorite teacher. He taught much more than all facets of business education. He taught good citizenship and service to family, school and community. He became a lifelong friend. My sincere sympathy to the families in this great loss. May your treasured memories give you comfort and peace.

Grandpa,
I love you so much and will deeply miss you. I'm so grateful for all of the time we were able to spend together. I am so thankful for all the life lessons you taught me. I'm thankful for your forgiving and loving spirit, which I've been able to apply in my own life. I'm so lucky to be your Granddaughter. I'm so glad that you and Grandma are together again... I know how deeply you love and missed her.
Till we meet again, Grandpa!
Love Always,
Beth

I was in Mr. Doerr's typing class when we heard the news of John Kennedy's assassination. I was also a classmate of his daughter, Cindy. He was a wonderful and caring man. Many condolences to the family. Nothing but good memories for me.

Mr. Doer was a teacher of mine in late 70's at Norco High School. I fondly remember him as one of my favorite teachers and most inspirational. God Bless his family as you share what I am certain are many fond memories. I have many myself and he will always be remembered fondly.
