Celia Doyle

1933 - 2022

Doyle, Celia, - 89, from the City of Margate, passed away on Thursday, September 8th at her residence surrounded by her family. Born on March 11, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph Horvath and Dorothy Nee Loudee, Celie attended Kensington High School for girls. She went on to marry Jerry Doyle in 1952. They briefly lived in Marlton, NJ and moved to the Jersey Shore in 1961 with their 3 children. She was a waitress at Boehmlers Restaurant for many summers. After her husband passed in 1989, Mom began her career as a Teachers Aide for the Margate School System. She retired in 2014. Over the years she has touched many lives of the residents of Margate. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, brother Joseph, and daughter-in-law Maria. She is survived by her siblings Dorothy, William and Donald. She is also survived by her son Richard, daughter Beth (Gary Lee) and son Dean. She is also survived by her three grandchildren Kelsey, Casey, and Sean alongside numerous nieces and nephews. The seat at the window will be empty now, much to the dismay of the beachgoers on her street. Many thanks to the staff of Holy Redeemer and also her Irish Angel Bernadette, the caregiver. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 15th at Trinity Methodist Church, 9500 Ventnor Avenue in Margate from 10am-12pm followed by a service at 12pm. Interment will be held at Laurel Memorial Park Cemetery in Egg Harbor Township. Arrangements by the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, Linwood – Ventnor.
