Dolores Gertrude Menz DeFilippis, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on June 8th, 2024, joining her husband of over 70 years, Edmund DeFilippis, who predeceased her by two months. Born and raised in Millville, NJ, Dolores was the daughter of Paul and Gertrude Menz. She attended Sacred Heart High School, where she met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Edmund. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, family, and shared passions.
Dolores was the devoted mother of four children: Celeste Galati (Gary), Thomas (Clete), Timothy (Belinda), and Monica DeMarco (Adrian). She was also a proud and loving grandmother to her four grandchildren: Anna, Anthony, Dominique, and Daniel. Her family was her greatest joy and most important legacy, as she delighted in spending time with them and creating lasting memories.
An ardent lover of the arts, Dolores had a deep appreciation for painting, the performing arts, and all forms of creative expression. She was a talented artist herself, often finding peace and fulfillment in her artwork. Her love for animals and nature was evident in the way she cared for her pets and the local wildlife, which were always sources of joy and tranquility for her.
Dolores had a passion for scientific discovery and a keen culinary skill, delighting in cooking and entertaining. She loved learning and encouraged this same curiosity in her children and grandchildren. A true sports enthusiast, she was a dedicated fan of the Philadelphia 76ers and the Philadelphia Phillies, never missing a game. Her legacy of love, kindness, and artistic spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A private memorial service will be held to celebrate Dolores's life and legacy. ln lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Villa Raffaella, 917 South Main Street, Pleasantville, NJ, 08232.

So very sorry for your loss of Dolores and I know how difficult it is to survive
two losses in a short period of time. I really like Dolores who always greeted me with a hug and share her stories regarding the friendly birds and squirrels she fed daily. Loved hearing about her basketball awards and
and how she fell in love with Edmund in Sacred Heart High School. A good
woman who has gone to find Edmund who is waiting for her with open arms.
My heart will always remember this great couple. So sorry for your loss of
Dolores and my prayers and sympathy are with you all.
