Matthew Stanks Obituary
June 4, 1969 - March 4, 2025
Matthew Stanks, 55, of Brigantine, NJ entered into rest on March 4, 2025. Born in Somers Point, NJ, Matthew was the loving son of the late John and Joanne (Krakosski) Stanks.
Matthew was a graduate of Absegami High School class of 1987, where he proudly played as his high school's quarterback. He then went on to play football for one year as a running back for William Paterson College of New Jersey. Matthew later went on to attend and receive his Associates from Atlantic County Community College in Applied Science. Matthew worked at the ACUA for over 36 years in various positions but most recently was a furnace operator there. Matthew loved his job and adored his coworkers.
Matthew loved to play flag football and softball and was a huge fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, 76ers, Flyers and the Pittsburgh Steelers (thanks to his cousins and Troy Polamalu). Matthew's family will always remember him for being an athlete in his younger years and being funny and goofy. He truly loved a good 'dad joke'. Matthew possessed the positive traits of strength, confidence and a quick wit.
Matthew will be missed and remembered by his son, Matthew J. Stanks; daughter, Brielle (David) Loefflad; stepson, Bret (Lisa) Parker; granddaughters, Elodie, Stevie; and brothers, John Stanks and Adam (Karin) Stanks.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Matthew's Graveside service on Thursday March 13, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Zion Cemetery, Zion Road, Egg Harbor Twp., NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Matthew's memory to 988 lifeline at https://988lifeline.org/donate/. I was shocked to learn of Matt´s Passing , he was a fine Man and always a pleasure to be around. I thought a lot of Matt , he was a standout of all the people I have ever met in my lifetime . My sincere condolences to the entire Stanks Family , prayers for strength and comfort at this most difficult time .
