RICHARD VINNACOMBE Obituary



VINNACOMBE SR., RICHARD JOSEPH (Dick) 72 - of Seaville, passed away on October 16, 2009. He was born in Philadelphia, PA. He was a loving son to his late parents Alford and Rose Vinnacombe of Marmora. He was predeceased by a baby brother Alford Richard Vinnacombe. The family moved from Philadelphia to Upper Township in 1952. Dick graduated from Ocean City High School in 1955. Afterwards, he enlisted in the Army and was trained as a communications specialist. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Trenton State College, his Masters in Education from Glassboro State College and completed many hours of post Masters studies. He was a teacher of history, English and computer science. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Mary and his beloved son, Richard, his wife Ann and two much loved grandchildren, Aden Joseph and Brigit Mary. He is also survived by his faithful Golden Retriever "Dixie Belle." While most members of his extended family have gone on to be with the Lord, his two dear first cousins Betty and Kathleen are left to morn him. Dick enjoyed music, traveling, boating, Dino's Diner and his favorite city, Washington, DC. He was an avid reader, and Phillies fan, especially Spring Training in Clearwater, Florida. Most importantly, he was a member of Seaville United Methodist Church where it was his honor to serve as Treasurer for twelve years. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Christian Life Celebration, Saturday, October 24 at the Seaville United Methodist Church, 3100 Shore Road, Seaville. The family will greet beginning at 10:00am followed by the service at 11 :OOam. Interment will immediately follow at the Seaville Cemetery. Mary, Anne, and my good friend Rich, I'm sorry I've only learned of this now, and I'll always remember how hospitable Richard Sr. was when I stopped by to see Rich, I'll dedicate today's Sunday Mass for him.
