WILLIAM MONAGHAN Obituary



MONAGHAN, WILLIAM E. 85 - of Seaville, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May Court House. Born in Wildwood, he was formerly of Ocean City and a resident of Seaville since 1973. Mr. Monaghan was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Navy before his honorable discharge. He was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD and received his Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic University in Troy, NY. Mr. Monaghan was the owner of Foundations and Structures, Inc. in Tuckahoe for 31 years retiring in 1991. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Coryn M. Monaghan (nee Kooker) of Seaville, four children, Mary K. Lupton and her husband Joe of Corbin City, William E. Monaghan, Jr. and his wife Terri of Key West, FL, Patricia G. Kammer and her husband Skip of Seaville, Michael C. Monaghan and his companion Denise of Seaville, two brothers, John Monaghan of Cologne, James Monaghan of Cape May, a sister, Barbara Lacey of Villas, 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and four great -great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Marguerite Essl, and three grandchildren, Daniel Pitts, T.J. Monaghan and Joelle Lupton. A Catholic Prayer Service will be offered Monday Morning at 11 o'clock from The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ where friends may call from ten o'clock until the time of service. Mr. Monaghan and my Grandfather (John C. James) and my father (John James) worked together at Foundations & Structures Inc. for many years, this is truly sad.

Aunt Coryn and family,
