My beloveth cousin, what wouldn't I have given to our heavenly father to have you to spend another hour, day, week, month or even a year with us. I don't fault you one bit for letting go, I didn't want to see you suffer any longer. You was a very brave soul and I admired you so much. You knew God had your back. I will miss you and I will always keep you in my memories. I know you were greeted in Heaven by the family Welcoming party, that is my mom, Big Mother, Mama Liza, Tutter, your father and that brother you didn't get to meet here on earth. Love you Chin. See you in Heaven when my time comes. Forever Verne

know that sinking feeling
It will happen to you too...
The one that you love is gone forever
And there's nothing you can do.
So try to remember the good times together
And your heart will start to heal
They live on inside you,
They're always beside you,
They're angels waiting there,
To guide you home.
MISS YOU DADDY
October 22, 2008
There's a heap of satisfaction
to sit here thinking of you Dad
And to tell you once again Dad,
how very much I love you.
There is comfort just in longing
for a smile from your face
And joy in just remembering
your very special place.
There is happiness in knowing
that my heart will always be
A place where you will rest
and will always be near to me.
All my love to you Dad in Heaven

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Warm Summer Sun
Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.

Music, when soft voices die
Music, when soft voices die,
Vibrates in the memory—
Odours, when sweet violets sicken,
Live within the sense they quicken.
Rose leaves, when the rose is dead,
Are heaped for the beloved's bed;
And so thy thoughts, when thou art gone,
Love itself shall slumber on.

Remember
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

Eagle Fly....
Fly with desire, fly with care.
Cast lovingly upon your wing,
To The Creator, you carry my prayer.
Fly prudent, fly wise.
Beneath your mighty wings,
The wind caresses, and you rise.
Fly with purity, fly with grace.
Far beyond the pale blue sky,
You soar, to a higher place.
Fly effortlessly, fly strong.
To The Heavens, your destination,
It's time to journey on.
Fly with dignity, fly with pride.
You hold the gifts of power and wisdom,
Doubts and fears, all cast aside.
Fly loyal, fly true.
From forefathers of ageless time,
This honor, bestowed upon you.
Fly with love, fly with passion.
For you a small soul,
The Creator filled with great compassion.
Eagle fly,
Hear my heartfelt plea.
Spread your sacred wings,
Fly High, Fly Free.

Weep Not For Me
If some day soon the words stop coming
Like they are coming now,
Do not fear and weep for me
And wonder where I am somehow.
For I will be in a better land
Free from all my pain,
And I will never suffer heartaches
And will have a brand new name.
I may be going home soon, I'm not sure.
Jesus will set the time.
Then I'll leave this world behind me
And to my mansion I will climb.
I hope I will leave a memory of me
Or be a blessing in some way
That when you stop and think of me
You will smile throughout the day.
That's what I really want in this life
Not riches, glory or fame;
But to win a soul for Jesus' Kingdom
And believe upon His name.
So, if the words stop coming to you
Please do not weep for me.
Just notice all the butterflies
And know I am set free.

To the family.. It will be the little things that you will remember; the quiet moments, the smiles and the laughter. Although it may seem hard right now, it will be the memory of these little things that help to push away the pain and bring the smiles back again. Those who live in the hearts of others never die. You are all in my prayers.
I know that this is a difficult time for you and your family. But, please be assured that you and your family can depend on his word for Comfort. Take comfort in knowing that God is in total control. God never hurts us needlessly, Our father tests us often with suffering and with sorrow, but he tests us not to punish us, just to help us meet tomorrow.

Kings and Kingdoms all pass away
nothing on earth endures, but
the Love of God who sent His Son
is Forever and Ever Yours.
When my life has reached its very end
And I take that final breath
I want to know I've left behind
Some "good" before my death.
I hope that in my final hour
In all honesty I can say
That somewhere in my lifetime
I have brightened someone's day.
That maybe I have brought a smile
To someone else's face
And made one moment a little sweeter
While they dwelled here in this place.
Lord, please be my reminder
And whisper softly in my ear
To be a "giver," not a "taker,"
In the years I have left here.
Give to me the strength I need
Open up my mind and my soul
That I might show sincere compassion
And love to others before I go.
For if not a heart be touched by me
And not a smile was left behind
Then the life that I am blessed with
Will have been a waste of time.
With all my heart, I truly hope
To leave something here on earth
That touched another, made them smile
And gave to my life . . . worth

~Soaring In His Love~
I thought that it would never come
...This wind to lift me up.
I waited helplessly on the ground,
While my gaze remained heavenbound.
Just when I thought that I would fall
And could take no more,
It was at that point He came to me
And I began to Soar!
He bent His hand near to earth and
Gently touched my face.
He brought with Him ~Healing~
And His boundless Grace.
Never shall I forget the day
My Lord came to set me ~Free~
Never will I
Stop thanking Him for His
~Grace~ sustaining me!

Lord Jesus, I am deeply moved by the extravagant,
Excessive display of your Love for me.
I am gripped by the intensity of your desire
And emotion for my soul.
You take delight in me, and my heart rises
to take delight in you.
Help me to ponder the excess of your Love.
And Help me to honor your Love
As I rise to a new level of trust,
Obedience, and confidence in you.
In your precious name. Amen

"HARMONY"
Warm and gentle, loving and kind,
You are the one I prayed to find.
So many have touched my heart before,
But none were truly free spirits to soar.
And just when I was giving up on love
You found my soul through powers above.
Whispers of Angels guided a tender heart,
We felt the force from the very start.
Sensitive and vulnerable, in the same place,
We were both willing to embrace
So hand in hand we stepped through love’s door
And grasped this chance of love forever more.
And we vowed, "you to me" and "me to you"
To protect this gift with freshness anew
Letting our spirits in harmony release
As we travelled down life’s path in peace.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of you.
They say I should move on, but tell me, where?
Where such love as I have shared with you,
Such sweetness from such joy so many years?
There has to be some room for storing sorrow,
Some place to keep one's undivided pain,
Where past can still be present, though in shadow,
And I can hold you in my arms again.
Ah, darling! We will be together always,
Though you are dead, and I must live alone.
Time is nothing but an open window
To things more real, which you and I have known.
When we were married, we became one flesh;
So now in me you'll not return to dust.

When you mourn me, make your mourning bright,
Adjusting what you long for to the light.
Nor need you love the less what has passed on.
The art of memory is celebration,
Yearning that turns sorrow into song,
Opening a heart forever young
Upon the unmade bed of its creation.
Then celebrate my life, and also death,
On which I, like a mendicant, depend,
Begging that my suffering might end
Even as I fight for every breath.
Hold onto me with unresentful tears,
A testament to what we've learned of love,
Pleased again to move as your heart moves,
Partaking with no loss in passion of
Years as rich and full as were our years.

I miss the things I used to do for you.
I miss the time, now filled with emptiness,
When each day was a stage for something new.
I miss your love, though mine for you remains,
A passion with no outlet to the sea,
A teardrop in a desert, that contains
What's left of my maternal ecstasy.
I miss your presence, like a silent chord
That anchored even solitude in grace.
I miss, for my love's labor, the reward
Of seeing some small pleasure in your face.
All these I miss, and yet they are all here
Within my heart, far more than I can bear.

I didn't get a chance to say goodbye
To you, to tell you that I loved you, to say
What now must be one long, unbroken cry
Of pain, now that at last you've gone away.
I cannot tell you what a joy it was
To be the one to tend you in your need.
The burden was a gift, for giving does
Not burden one who loves, though loving bleed.
I wish I could have been with you when you,
Perhaps aware, perhaps not, turned towards death
Alone, with no one there to wonder to,
To share your fear, your hand, your one last breath.
I wish, I wish, I wish . . . but it is done,
And now I must surrender what is gone.

Death is nothing but a moment's rest
Until the Second Coming of the Lord
When He shall gather to Him of the best
To take them to the place of their reward.
I've felt the power of Jesus in my soul
Shining like a golden sun within,
Melting my hard heart to make me whole,
Burning out the remnants of my sin.
I've felt Him work within me, so I know
The glory that will come when I awake.
I'll sleep just like a child who'll homeward go,
And in my dreams of love great pleasure take.
So do not mourn my death, and do not grieve.
The Lord will come for me: This I believe

The Pain Of Loss Is Just To Much
I don't understand,
The pain of loss is to much.
Is that why I can't say sorry,
The pain of loss is to much.
I still love him,
The pain of loss is to much.
He gives me pain,
The pain of loss is to much.
I sense in coming,
The pain of loss is to much.
The pain to me,
From him,
The pain of loss is just to much.

One blessing had I, than the rest
So larger to my eyes
That I stopped gauging, satisfied,
For this enchanted size.
It was the limit of my dream,
The focus of my prayer, --
A perfect, paralyzing bliss
Contented as despair.
I knew no more of want or cold,
Phantasms both become,
For this new value in the soul,
Supremest earthly sum.
The heaven below the heaven above
Obscured with ruddier hue.
Life's latitude leant over-full;
The judgment perished, too.
Why joys so scantily disburse,
Why Paradise defer,
Why floods are served to us in bowls, --
I speculate no more.

Death is a dialogue between
The spirit and the dust.
"Dissolve," says Death. The Spirit, "Sir,
I have another trust."
Death doubts it, argues from the ground.
The Spirit turns away,
Just laying off, for evidence,
An overcoat of clay.

FAREWELL.
Tie the strings to my life, my Lord,
Then I am ready to go!
Just a look at the horses --
Rapid! That will do!
Put me in on the firmest side,
So I shall never fall;
For we must ride to the Judgment,
And it's partly down hill.
But never I mind the bridges,
And never I mind the sea;
Held fast in everlasting race
By my own choice and thee.
Good-by to the life I used to live,
And the world I used to know;
And kiss the hills for me, just once;
Now I am ready to go!

Humbled by Your Majesty,
To think you loved us so,
You left your home in Glory.
You made the choice to go.
While angelic hosts proclaimed,
The beauty of Your name.
Singing hymns, hosannas ring.
Even so, to us, you came.
Walking daily by Your side.
We see the Trinity.
Yet, again, You were willing,
To meet adversity.
Glory, Honor to Your name,
We offer these to You.
In humble adoration,
All Praise to God is due.

I have found that it’s a good idea to stop for a moment and simply write down the things I am thankful for. In this busy time of the year, it is all too easy during the hustle and bustle to momentarily forget the importance of giving thanks to Father God.
To start out with, he is always faithful to meet my needs. But, he goes even further than that. So often, he has met the desires of my heart, and even blessed me beyond measure with things I never gave thought to ask for.
I believe that there is a perfect balance in making our requests known to God. I know that for me personally, I lean towards praying for others and their needs. We cannot out give God. Yet I know that at any time, I can go boldly to the throne room of grace and ask anything according to God’s will.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. KJV
As I read over my personal list of blessings to be thankful for, I soon realize that the balances on the scales are heavy on one side. I indeed have so much to give thanks for…good health, a loving family, a home, protection, but more importantly, salvation and eternal life. God has been faithful to draw my family unto him. That’s not to say that every single member is saved, but in his timing, I pray that it will be the case. I rejoice in every good and perfect gift that comes from him and praise his holy name.
May this Thanksgiving give you reason to reflect, praise and rejoice in the goodness of God.

Standing After The Storm
It’s about this time of year I look forward to spring and planting flowers. The birds are singing, a few early spring flowers are already pushing their way through the cool damp ground, and the days become longer. Humming birds will swoop to their feeders, while making their sweet sounds of chattering,
Although there are many benefits to spring, Oklahomans must face the threat of tornadoes. The sky hosts dark, intimidating clouds. Rolling and gathering intensity of speed, the tornado is often seen dropping to the ground, only to rise again. Other times, the vicious killer strikes without mercy, leaving little to recognize at its finish.
There is a ‘quiet before the storm.’ I never understood the expression until experiencing it. An eerie silence washes over me; and for the moment, nothing seems to move. I find it hard to breathe in the thick, humid air. Then, without warning, a tornado drops from the darkened cloud in all her fury.
We are all too familiar with the consequences of anything or anyone in its path. Much like the fury one faces in the storms of Oklahoma, our walk with God may reflect the same. Many storms are hurled across our paths...be it sickness, death of loved ones, disasters, or perhaps an unfaithful spouse. Satan hovers over the Christian as the looming storms, waiting to see whom he might devour.
The important question is, “Who will be standing after the Storm? ” Will you or I be able to withstand the storms of life? There is a way to stay in perfect peace, but peace will only come as we place our complete faith and trust in Jesus.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. NIV We know from Philippians, that it is possible to have peace of mind as we go through trials.
Jesus forewarned that there would be trials and tests. It’s very important what we choose to do when they come. Let us make the decision to listen to God’s Word, combine it with faith and confess it with our mouths. Psalms 85:8 I will listen to what God the Lord will say; he promise peace to his people, his saints…NIV
Our Heavenly Father’s ultimate desire is to see his saints standing…. planted solid on the Rock of Our Salvation. Let us put our face to the winds and proclaim, “We shall not be moved!”
2 Thessalonians 3:16 NIV Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. Amen

In the hushed, sweet silence
Of the early morn,
The earth fresh with dew,
Newly reborn;
I treasure the cool
Almost mystical air,
The first bird song,
I listen with care.
The sleeping shadows
Soon disappear
As the light of dawn
Draws softly near.
The air is scented
With natures perfume,
Honeysuckle, Gardenia
And Roses in bloom.
Time to gather our thoughts
As we start a new day,
To speak to our God
And lift our hearts to pray;
To thank Him for the beauty
Should be our special goal,
In the hushed, sweet, silence
He feeds our hungry souls.

They seldom show Him with a smile.
Always His face is sad to see,
As if a jest could never be,
Nor He be merry for a while.
The kindly humor that could pat
The brows of boys He chanced to see
And say: "Let children come to me!"
No brush has ever painted that!
The man who loved a little child
And walked the common ways of men,
Though troubled often, now and then
With those about Him, surely smiled.
I fancy as I read His word
I hear Him chuckling, soft and sweet,
Telling to Mary, at His feet,
Some curious thing He’d seen or heard.
He must have had a twinkling eye,
Which danced at times with gentle mirth,
So greatly to be loved on earth,
So bravely on the cross to die.
THIS IS MY FATHERS WORLD
This is my Fathers world,
And to my listening ears
All nature sings and round me rings
The music of the spheres.
This is my Fathers world;
I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas,
His hand the wonders wrought.
This is my Fathers world,
The birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white,
Declare their Makers praise.
This is my Fathers world;
He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass,
He speaks to me everywhere.
This is my Fathers world,
O let me ne’er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.
This is my Fathers world:
The battle is not done;
Jesus who died shall be satisfied,
And earth and heaven be one.
Standing At The Crossroads
Life is quite a journey,
From the cradle to the grave.
We can savor it a free man,
Or suffer it a slave.
As you walk the path of life,
Can you truly say.
You know where you'll be going,
If you die today.
Do you know the day will come,
When you must make a choice.
To continue in the darkness,
Or follow Jesus' voice.
You have walked in bondage,
Since the day that you were born.
It started in the garden,
When our link to God was torn.
If you think it's foolishness,
Or think this isn't true.
That's because you don't believe,
That Jesus died for you.
I say to you the day will come,
When you will have to face.
The very One who died for you,
The One who took your place.
You will see the nail scarred hands,
You'll see that crimson stain.
And you will hear Him ask you,
"Did I die in vain".
That's the day you'll make your choice,
It happens to us all.
We either turn our backs on Him,
Or we accept His call.
Let me tell you what I saw,
On that fateful day.
When Jesus came into my life,
And washed my sins away.
I was marching straight to hell,
Drawing closer every day.
When I looked up and saw a cross,
Standing in my way.
There was a body on that cross,
A gruesome sight to see.
But something in that lifeless form,
Was reaching out to me.
I somehow knew that it was time,
For me to make a choice.
And deep inside my sinful heart,
I heard a gentle voice.
"I love you" were the words I heard,
So peaceful and so sweet.
"Let me wash you with this blood,
That's dripping off my feet".
I looked again upon that cross,
And then I saw the blood.
Flowing like a river,
An endless crimson flood.
I looked back upon the path,
That brought me to this place.
And then I felt a teardrop,
Trailing down my face.
As I was looking at my path,
That path I knew so well.
Suddenly I realized,
I was marching straight to hell.
I took a look beyond that cross,
Where the path continued on.
Winding through the darkness,
Until the trail was gone.
Then I saw another path,
It was quite a sight.
It led up to heaven,
And it was bathed in light.
Again I heard that gentle voice,
"I suffered all your pain.
Won't you let me wash you clean,
Or did I die in vain".
"Take the path that I have lit,
Make your choice today.
I will love and guide you,
And take you all the way".
I was standing at the crossroads,
I remember it so well.
I realized the time had come,
To turn my back on hell.
I knelt down beneath that cross,
And He bathed me with His blood.
That never ending river,
That flowing crimson flood.
Before that day I'd never known,
What life should really be.
Until I met my Savior,
Nailed upon that tree.
My life has never been the same,
Since that fateful day.
When I asked the Lord to come,
And wash my sins away.
It doesn't matter who you are,
You have to make a choice.
Sometime, somewhere along your path,
You will hear His voice.
You'll be standing at the crossroads,
And that will be the day.
That you'll look up and see a cross,
Standing in your way.
Thank You Lord

GOD MOVES IN A MYSTERIOUS WAY
God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform:
He plants His footsteps in the sea,
And rides upon the storm.
Deep in unfathomable mines
With never failing skill,
He treasures up His bright designs
And works his sovereign will.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy, and shall break
In blessings on your head.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust him for His Grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.
His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour:
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.
Blind unbelief is sure to err,
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.

PRAYER IS
Prayer is the souls sincere desire
Un-uttered or expressed;
The motion of a hidden fire
That trembles in the breast.
Prayer is the burden of a sigh,
The falling of a tear,
The upward glancing of the eye,
When none but God is near.
Prayer is the simplest form of speech
That infants lips can try,
Prayer is the simplest strains that reach
The Majesty on high.

All troubles and cares will cease to be.
The glories of heaven will be revealed
And from these earthen vessels we’ll flee.
~~~
Someday the clouds will role away,
Trumpets will sound loud and clear
And, OH, what beauty we will behold
When Christ and His angels appear.
~~~
Someday our Saviour will take us home,
We’ll wear garments of purest white.
There no sin or darkness will enter in
And we’ll bask in God’s holy light.
~~~
There’ll be no more tears of sorrow
All hatred will pass away.
We’ll walk hand and hand as brothers
On God’s beautiful shore, Someday.
I’m Asking For Your Help Lord
He’s knocking on my door Lord,
That old devil in disguise.
He’s trying mighty hard Lord,
To tempt me with his lies.
He’s whispering in my ear Lord
And I know You gave me a choice,
But he’s whispering soft and gentle Lord
With such a charming voice.
So, I’m asking for Your help Lord,
Through each and every day,
For only with Your help Lord
Can I chase temptation away.
You know it’s really hard Lord,
For You were tempted too
But You rebuked that tempter Lord
And I want to be like You.
So help me lock the door Lord
Then throw away the key.
Cease his tempting voice Lord
And let my thoughts dwell on Thee.
Let me feel Your loving presence,
Bestow Your sweet, peace on me,
Keep me ever in Your presence,
Now and throughout eternity.
There’s nothing I can do to win Your love,
Not one thing I can do or say,
And there are times I feel so unworthy
That I can’t even pray.
Sometimes it’s so hard to imagine
That Your gift of love is free,
That grace, greater than all my sins
Is the gift You bestowed on me.
Please help me Lord to remember,
I need but walk in Your light,
To know Your grace is sufficient
And I am precious in Thy sight.
And though my sins I can not hide,
They are washed away by Your grace,
Freely bestowed on this unworthy one
By Jesus who died in my place.
Then when my life on earth is finished,
By Your tender mercies and grace,
I will walk through the gates of heaven
And feel Your loving embrace.
Stones Or Gems
There’s a road called life
We each walk every day
And sometimes we encounter
Stones left in our way.
Left by a careless traveler,
They sometimes cause us to fall,
Then down on our knees
In Jesus name we call.
He gently picks us up
Saying, " Child can’t you see?
You can remove the stones
By always following Me.
And you can leave stones
For others to find
Or you can leave gems
Each one of a kind.
For you are the stones
Or you are gems rare,
It all depends on you
If for others you care."
So, polish your gems
And spread them wide,
You'll leave no stones
With Jesus by your side.
Rejoice In The Day
The storm clouds have passed
The sky is blue,
Earth is refreshed
And there’s a rainbows hue.
Arched across the heavens
In splendid array
Giving the promise
Of another glorious day.
Another day to laugh,
Another day to live,
To sing Gods praises
For the blessings He gives.
Another day He has made
To rejoice in His love.
Another day closer
To our home above.
So rejoice in the day
Whether gray skies or blue,
Rejoice in the love
That God has for you.
AT THE FOOT OF THE CROSS
I’ll kneel at the old wooden cross
Where my savior died for me,
I'll lift my arms in praise
And praise Him through eternity.
+++++++++
I’ll kneel at the old wooden cross
And joyfully praise His name,
For on that old cross He changed me
And I will never be the same.
+++++++++
Oh, the precious blood He spilled!
Oh, pain and agony He bore!
How it tears at my heart and soul,
And I’ll praise Him forevermore.
+++++++++
I’ll kneel at the foot of the cross
In thankfulness for my days,
For the love He bestowed on me
And I give Him all of my praise.
+++++++++
Without that old wooden cross
And the life He gave so free
To cover the sins of the world,
Where would humanity be?
+++++++++
Oh, the precious blood He spilled!
Oh, the suffering He endured!
And by His never ending love
My home in glory is secured.
+++++++++
I’ll kneel at the old wooden cross
Where He took my place,
And offer up my thankful praise
That someday, I'll see His face.
The Gift of Love
The bells of Heaven are ringing
A celebration is under way.
To rejoice in the gift of Love
God sent to us on this day.
The Heavenly Angels are singing,
Glad tidings of peace on earth,
Heralding in the the season
Of our dear Saviors birth.
The Heavenly Saints are shouting
Praises to the Father above,
For on this day He gave to us
The perfect gift of Love.
Let's join the celebration,
Send the invitation far and near
To share in God's gift of LOVE
Each and every day of the year.
For it's true, love has no season,
And we need no special day,
To receive God's gift of Love
And in return; give the gift away.
When my heart is filled with sorrow
And no hope for the future I see,
I simply call on my best friend
And He walks the dark valley with me.
When my life is filled with pain
And I feel alone with despair and misery,
It’s then I feel His presence
For He walks each dark valley with me.
Thank you Lord for my journey
Of many good and long years,
For walking with me through each valley
And calming all of my fears.
Thank you Jesus, my Lord and my King,
Thank you for setting me free,
For always staying close by my side
And walking the dark valleys with me.
Psalms 36:7
How excellent is thy loving kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
THE SHADOW OF YOUR WINGS
When skies are dark and trouble rains
My heart with joy stills sings
For there’s a refuge from life’s storms
Under the shadow of Your wings.
How precious is Your love O God!
How precious, Your thoughts of me!
Thank You for Your love O God,
For lasting peace and security.
Under the shadow of Your wings
I am secure from all harm.
Under the shadow of Your wings
I’m held safely in Your arms.
I will praise Your name forever
Of Your great love I will sing,
Thank You Lord for holding me
Under the shadow of Your wings.
I'm so thankful Lord to be
Under the shadow of Your wings.
He Has Led All The Way
When the road of life seemed rough to tread
And my sunny skies turned gray
I had a friend who stood by me
And He's led me all the way.
When my foot has stumbled on the path
And my heart has gone astray
He was always right by my side
He's led me all the way.
He's led me through the valley dim
He's led me through the storm
He will stay right by my side
And keep me from all harm.
Yes, He's held my hand in times of pain
And when sorrows filled my day
He's lifted me up from deep despair
He's led me all the way.
I'll sing His praise from morn till night
And long after my dying day
He's been my comfort and my stay
He's led me all the way.
Jesus is that friend of mine
And He will be yours too
Whatever trials on earth you face
He'll lead you safely through.
GOOD FRIENDS
Good friends are like the sunshine
On a dreary winters day,
They pop up unexpectedly
And chase the gloom away.
It may be with a phone call
A card or email they thoughtfully post
But they have a way of knowing
Just when you need them most.
They’re like a garden in summer
Each flower it’s own lovely hue,
Each blooming there with love,
Each one a friend so true.
Like sunshine on the flowers
Comes the warmth from their heart
And the friendship grows lovelier
Even if we are apart.
I have a lovely, sunny garden
With good friends planted there
Who fill my heart with joy
By showing that they care.
We need the love of good friends
Like the earth needs the sun
And I thank my God on high
For giving me each and every one.
REJOICE IN THE LORD
Inspired by Philippians 4:4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always,
Do not worry about tomorrow.
Go to God in humble prayer
And give Him all your sorrows.
Rejoice and let your needs be known
For God is faithful, just and kind,
And His peace that surpasses understanding
Will guard your heart and mind.
Rejoice in your laughter,
Rejoice in your tears,
For in your rejoicing
Comes strength for your fears.
Rejoice in the Lord always,
His loving kindness we can’t measure.
Rejoice and be thankful for His love
You'll have no greater treasure.
You see me with gossamer wings
Dressed in robes of purest white,
Glistening like gold
With a heavenly light.
You see me as a child
With innocence sweet,
Laughing, dancing, singing
Around the throne; at Jesus’ feet.
You see me in a friend
Who is tried and true
And you know I was sent
Down to earth for you.
I am none of these,
And yet I am all.
I am spirit, I am essence,
Sent to answer your call.
I feel the beat of your heart,
I hear the pleas of your soul,
And softly whisper wisdom
So you may reach your goal.
You hear my whisper
So soft and sweet in your ear
And you know all is well,
There’s nothing to fear.
For I’m always by your side.
I look upon all your ways,
I am here for guidance
When your lonely heart strays.
I guide your footsteps
That you may not stumble
And you may know me only,
When your heart is humble.
I’m your guardian angel
Sent from our Father above
To guide your heart and soul
To His eternal love.
So when you feel my presence,
Know the work that I do
Is simply because, of the love
Our Father has for you.
WHEN HE CALLS YOUR NAME
Traveling on life’s weary road
There walked a man with a heavy load.
Up and down the shores of Galilee,
From Bethlehem’s crib to Calvary.
He bore that load for you and me.
What will I say when He calls my name?
Will I turn and hide my face in shame?
And I might ask the same of you;
Will He look and say; "You I never knew.
You never listened to my words so true.
For you I suffered all your pain.
For you I gave my life in vain;
One simple thing is all I sought,
That you accept the message that I taught.
But alas; I see it was for naught."
Oh, how our souls will cry in pain
For we’ll never have the chance again,
To live with the angels on every hand
And walk with Jesus in the Promised Land.
So listen now, and obey His commands.
Then on the day He calls your name,
You’ll not hear Him say; "I died in vain."
But with a voice so gentle and mild
He’ll say; "Welcome home my faithful child,
Your name, in the book of life I’ve filed."
MY TREASURES
Dear Lord, I treasure the moments
At the starting of my day,
When all is quiet and peaceful
And I can kneel and pray.
For in the turmoil of life
The moments are so very few,
When I can steal away
To spend some time with you.
I thank you for each blessing, Lord,
I’ve had more than my share,
And if I should ask for more,
It would be for moments, spent in prayer.
For I’d rather have the moments,
More than fame or wealth.
So precious are the moments
When I have you to myself.
I count each tiny moment
A treasure beyond compare.
Worth more than gold or silver
Are my moments with you in prayer
HIS LIGHT
I saw a light, a radiant light,
as it came to rest in the darkest night
and the nighttime of my soul did flee,
when he gave His wondrous light to me.
Father may my light so shine
that all will know I am thine
and may it spread so very wide
the darkness will have no place to hide
and all the world will brightness be,
with the light that comes from thee.
The Light; the light of the world is Jesus.
It’s His light that shines from within us.
His light did shine through the eons of time
And settled in hearts, like yours and mine.
His light that’s radiant beyond compare
Gives rich gifts of the spirit for us to share.
So, once we receive it from the father above
Let all men see it with kindness and love.
For the more we give of His light divine,
The more He returns for us to shine.
Let’s let our light shine so all will see,
The Light Of The World, living, in you and me.
THE JOURNEY
I went upon a journey when I was but a youth,
Seeking answers to life’s questions, searching for great truths.
I traveled through the pages of an old and sacred book,
Finding great adventures on every page I looked.
I saw the world created and dwelled in a garden fair,
Until the hand of evil came and planted his seeds there.
I sailed upon an ocean for forty days and nights,
Soared on the wings of a dove as it lifted up in flight.
I traveled through a wilderness, over deserts hot and dry.
I met a man named Abraham, whose hope, on God, relied.
I journeyed to distant lands, met with prophets and with kings.
Fought in mighty battles wielding arrows, swords and slings.
Then I rested in a stable where a tiny baby lay,
I watched Him grow into a man and followed Him on His way.
I walked upon the water of a raging, storm tossed sea.
But the hardest journey of all, was when He led me to Calvary.
I cried as they nailed Him to a cross, watched as He died upon that tree.
Oh, how my soul did mourn to know, He died there just for me.
I watched as they laid Him in a tomb and rolled the stone in place.
Down on bended knee I knelt, in thanks for His saving grace.
But, oh how my heart rejoiced on that great and fateful day,
When I watched the angels from glory as they rolled the stone away.
I watched Him ascend to Heaven and sit on a golden throne.
I listened as He promised, never to leave me all alone.
So, I went on with my journey, trusting Him to be my guide,
And just as He had promised, He stayed right by my side.
Oh, I’ve traveled through the ages, but soon my journey will be o’er,
When I travel to my home on a beautiful, golden shore.
I hope you’ve taken the journey for it is my fervent prayer,
That our roads will cross in Heaven and I will meet you there.
Oh, I know sometimes the road gets long and hard to tread
But just hold on to the faith, that by a loving hand you’re led.
Then we’ll shout His praise together, sing and dance around His throne,
Giving thanks for His love and guidance on the journey to our home.
SOMEWHERE IN TIME
Somewhere in time, not as we know it here,
we’ll meet with all our loved ones
held in our heart so dear.
Somewhere in time they will meet us,
the ones who have gone on before,
so happy they’ll be to greet us,
over on God’s beautiful shore.
And the longing we’ve had for them
down through the lonely years
will be swept away in the tide
of our overflowing tears.
Forever we will be together
with loved ones, yours and mine;
over on God’s golden shore
they’re waiting, somewhere in time.
Through the good times and the bad,
And when I’m happy or sad,
I know my Lord is always there!
Any time of night or day,
He will hear me when I pray,
And my burdens He will gladly bear!
Though angry billows roll,
He’s the Keeper of my soul,
And the Captain of my ship,
Upon life’s sea!
When waves are Oh so high,
I know I’m the apple of His eye,
And that He will safely pilot me!
When satan tries to make me fear,
My Lord will soon appear!
On Him I can always depend!
Then, the old devil has to go,
For He’s a defeated foe,
In the presence of Jesus, my true Friend!
Goodbye My Love
She stood looking out the kitchen window
Her tears were flowing like rain
The news had just come from the Dr.
Her husband wouldn't live through the day.
They'd had many good years together
The children were all grown and gone
She could hear her own heart a beating,
How would she ever make it alone
The kindness and love few had known
That she had been blessed with so pure
How could she bear for him going to Heaven
And leave her still living down here
She thinks of the years and the laughter
With their children of three that they had
Of course there were times of sadness
But the good times all outweighed the bad
Her mind snapped back to the present
And she walked to the bedroom door
Something was very wrong she could see it
She hadn't see him like this before
He reached out his hand to his Sweetheart
The one he had chosen for life
She'd worked hard and she'd never failed him
His long time companion his wife
He said you know I'll soon be leaving
But I'll be waiting for you, you know
I'll be standing by a clear crystal river
It seems now I'm longing to go
I never thought before I could leave you
But the pain has just been so bad
Now my Dear Savior is beckoning
And I do want to see Mom and Dad
I even see sweet bands of angels
They're coming for me now I know
The pain is now leaving my body
Such peace comes to me as I go
Please don't grieve for my leaving
Just hold onto Jesus' dear hand
Come to me my sweet Darling Mary
To that wonderful Heavenly land
The Door to Heaven was Left Open
So she walked on through
With a wave and a sweet smile
For me~ and ~for you.
As my heart was breaking
She would be well again
The doors were open
To heavenly portals, so she went in
She heard angels singing
And seen Jesus in a storm
Though it was a winter chill in that moment
She was in heavenly arms ~ kept warm.
The door was left open
She seen a glowing light
As I sat in tears for the knowing
Her room would be empty tonight.
I tried to call her back
Please dont go~I will miss you so
Letting go of my hand
Through the door ~ she now would go.
The door was open
so far from us right here
She took the unseen hands of Jesus
She left without a fear
Wait for me my Dear one
Just inside the open door
I'll be there when God so deems
we shall be together once more.
In The Arms Of God
For quite awhile now I've been concerned
Of what happens when we die
I had no fear of my destination
It was the trip that made me cry
I know I'll have a Home in Heaven
But what about my position?
Just what really happens to a person?
As they make the last transition
Does death hurt? Are you afraid?
Just what all do you see
But Jesus said He's send an angel
Surely she's take care of me
This has troubled me really bad
This journey I am about to pursue
So I had a little talk with Jesus
Of just what I should do
I said Oh Lord I know
You so sweetly saved my soul
You cleansed me so completely
And made me free and whole
But just what happens on my journey
From here to over there
I have been a little frightened
And I know that's so unfair
If my Lord can build a mansion
That man's eyes cannot behold
He'll surely see me safely o'er
Just as He saved my soul
My journey may be morning
When my heart is renewed and calm
I feel a sense of peace around me
Now as I read the Psalms
I now believe that when it's my time
To leave this sinful world below
An angel will simply take my hand
And say it's time to go
All of your pain and sorrow
Forever now is gone
You'll rest with the Savior
When you reach your new Home
So when I leave don't worry
Because all my fear is gone
I'm both consoled and comforted
And waiting now for Home
But I ask that you all join me
In this precious land of plenty
Where Jesus Christ is the light
And all our friends are many
My tears all gone my bags are packed
My ticket's in my hand
Someday I'll be in the arms of an angel
Hold My Hand, Lord
My heart is heavy, my pain is so bad
I know you're there and I'm truely glad
But please let me feel You, in this barren land
Here I stand Lord, please hold my hand
My friends have forgotten, that I need them still
I'm trying, my Father to just do Thy Will
Please show your presence, So my heart will be still
Here I stand Lord, please hold my hand
My body is failing, like a slow snking sand
It no longer functions , at my command
The tempest is raging, My passing's at hand
Here I stand Lord, please hold my hand
Someday I will join the Heavenly Strand
I want to be singing in Heaven's Sweet Band
But until I leave Lord, Please understand
Here I stand Lord Please hold my hand
Then when I cross old Jordan's span
I will say goodbye to this wicked land
I will see you , Jecus in Sweet Gloryland
But until then Lord, please hold my hand
*~Wings of a Dove~*
Some days it seems I am so tired and worn
My pathway seems always up hill
I strive just to feel My Saviour's Dear Touch
I long just to do His Sweet Will
Some days I feel lost, without even a friend
I feel so alone and so drear
It seems all my prayers are going no where
I would just like to know that He's near
Than all at once, my burdens just lift
And Blessings pour down from above
He says "My Child, I was here all the while"
I'll send you My Love on a dove
I sent it once for my own Dear Son
My Pride to Him I did show
He fulfilled my work, while walking the earth
I sent Him that dove, so He's know
So, child, don't be discouraged, when things are going wrong
For I told you that sometimes they will
The devil is working so hard, don't you see
Hoping all my Words, he can kill
Just take heed and don't worry, your crossing is nye
Hold your hands up in Praise to Above
You can be sure, I hear your Sweet cry
And I'll send down my Love on a dove
The Anchor Holds
When darkness falls around me
When I feel I have no friend
Then I feel that I'm not worthy
Though I KNOW that I have been
I know of His sweet Promise
He'd go with me to the end
As I swim in deep depression
I cry out to Him Again
Some of the nights are long and lonely
Some are filled with tears and pain
Sometimes doubt will start to enter
I call upon my Lord again
It seems He said "My Child don't worry"
I wont leave you in the cold
As I look inside your heart tonight
I plainly see, your anchor holds
It's not a pretty ship, I'm seeing
Sails are ragged and some are torn
It's been broke and it's been battered
And the hull, it looks so worn
Now don't you worry my dear loved one
Though you're growing gray and old
Have no fear, I hold your future
And it's very clear, your anchor holds
~~**Peace Like A River**~~
Matthew 16 24-28
Then Jesus said unto His diciples
If any man will come after me let him deny himself
And take up his cross and follow me. For whosoever
will save his life shall lose it, and whosoever
will lose his life for my sake shall find it, For what is
A man profited if he shall gain the whole world
and lose his soul?
And what shall a man give in
exchange for his soul. For the Son of Man shall come
In the glory of His Father with His angels; and then
He shall reward every man according to his works
Verily I say unto you. There will be some standing
here which till not taste death till the see the Son
of Man coming in His Kingdom.
Did you ever see a beautiful river
Flowing gently with the breeze of the wind
It’s like my soul just soaring on
To a life that will never end
I’m standing on your promise Lord
As I start another new day
So sweet and pure is Thy word
As I kneel and start to pray
You said you’d not forsake me Lord
I am believing every word
When that small still voice speaks
It’s the sweetest ever heard
I’m wading through deep water now
Exhausted both in mind and soul
Trying to lead the lost ones in
And Sweet Heaven’s is my goal
I can’t help but look sometimes
With greatest of anticipation
I gaze upward toward the skies
I have this "know so" Salvation
The Bible teaches that you’ll be coming soon
One will be left here and one will be taken
That’s why we need to spread your Word
And to this sin tossed world awaken
All have sinned and come short
Of the Precious Glory of God
The devil’s out to devour us all
While here on earth we trod
Oh Praise God for that river of life
Through my soul has flown
And when it cleanses me of sin
I soar to worlds unknown
Eyes have not seen nor have ears heard
What all God has in store
I have been blessed beyond measure
Now who could ask for more
I have this peace just like a river
Deep down in my soul and heart
King Jesus walks beside of me
His sweet blessings He imparts
I may have thorns on this side
Of Old Jordan’s stormy shore
But it will not last forever
Soon my pain will be no more
I can now hear the angels singing
There’s Saints gathered all around
Peace, yes precious peace my friend
What a Beautiful Heavenly sound
He will split the eastern sky and in His sweet arms
I’ll travel far away from all of earth’s harm
Flow on gentle river Blessed by God’s own Hand
I am safe at home now on a distant shore I stand
All is peace and beauty as I look around in awe
I gaze upon My Jesus more beautiful than all
There’s wildflowers everywhere God’s love is abound
Peace like a river forever flowing now
God Shall Wipe Away All Tears*~
Walk around me Jesus I’ll let the spirit lead
For I need your help Lord to fulfill all my needs
My heart is heavy laden as I ask of Thee tonight
So if you will dear Jesus just hold me really tight
Let these fears leave my body I cannot contain
Take away my restlessness and relieve all the pain
My nights are long and weary oh how I need your touch
Send down a band of angels if I’m not asking for too much
You’ve already given freely of the Blessings I now know
You’ve proved a thousand times over with all the love you show
I need a measure of faith tonight as my journey I pursue
Without it’s the darkest night Oh Lord what will I do
Touch me Lord heal me please I ask in your sweet name
I’m so tired and lonely now and the devil is to blame
He’ll devour the most righteous if an inch of space they give
With him it’s a daily battle as long as we may live
Get thee behind me satan that’s where you’re going to stay
I just felt a touch from my Jesus the burden rolled away
Praise the Lord O my soul I glorify His name
I’ve fought the fight I’ve kept the faith I’ll ride that Glory train
Things are brighter as I soar higher the spirit sweeps my soul
My foot's on the rock my minds made up Heaven is my goal
Nothing going to stop me now and when the devil comes again
I’ll rebuke him in Jesus’ name and Praise the Lord again
My mind is on eternity and not what earth might give
Sin’s pleasure is for a season the devil brings you down again
But I’ve got wise to Lucifer he’ll deter me no more
I’m marching in God’s Army first stop is Heaven’s shore
The only real pleasure is Salvation the good old fashion kind
Where it brings you to your feet and refreshes your mind
I want to shout far and near of a friend like no other
My Blessed Savior Jesus Christ He’s my elder brother
I’ll introduce you to the Man if you don’t already know
The Old ship just passes once and it’s loading now to go
I’m prayed up my bags are packed I want to get on board
I want to see my loved ones but most of all my Lord
~*When I Think Of Calvary*~
Oh but for the love of God I've known
Oh but for His mercies to me He's shown
I might have strayed away, who knows?
When I think of Calvary, I think of Home
I feel an ache in my heart when I ponder
Pf blood shed on that cross up yonder
What a cruel death He died on that cross
So souls like you and I might not be lost
Excitement in the air as I think of him up there
When he ascended back to His Father in the sky
Nothing's to compare as He rose up in the air
To prepare a place of riches oh so fair
A mansion that awaits as I step into the gate
And the Son of God will be the light alone
Two thoughts go together death and life forever
When I think of Calvary I think of Home
Now my spirit soars even higher than before
When I wake up with Heaven on my mind
Walking on a street of gold we'll be no longer old
Men's mind cannot contain what all we'll find
Loved ones gone before part from them no more
All trials and tribulations will be o'er
We'll be with God's Son His will have been done
We will celebrate in Glory forevermore
As death draweth near I do have some fears
Of the transition I'll endure along the way
I will leave at His command He will hold my hand
And old Jordan will roll back for us that day
He'll split the eastern sky some wont have to die
As He gathers His saved ones that's His own
In a twinkling of an eye we'll soar into the sky
When I think of Calvary I still think of Home
"For we know that if our earthly house ...is destroyed,
we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in heaven."
Autumn Blooms
Autumn blooms with glorious rich colors
Golden yellows and deepest orange
Sage green and enriched browns
Each change blessed with it's own unique hue
Brings each new Season into ones view
Enjoy this glorious color time of year
As such a peaceful rest is spread
The brightness of the day grows shorter
So rejoice in the Autumn Season
As it too soon will surely shed
God sends the lovely Autumn Season
For enjoyment that all can share
Each season with its own special tribute
To be treasured for the uniqueness
So it is with the fall colors of the year.
Welcome the richness of fall
Embrace the calm of the autumn
Relax in the cooling of the days
Be thankful and rest in the bliss
For this is a treasured gift of God
Psa 3:1 Lord, how are they increased that trouble me!
Many are they that rise up against me.
Psa 3:2 Many there be which say of my soul,,
There is no help for him in God. Selah.
Psa 3:3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me;
my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
Psa 3:4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice,
and he heard me out of his holy hill.
Selah. Psa 3:5 I laid me down and slept;
I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
Psa 3:6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people,
that have set themselves against me round about.
Wonderful Jesus
Wonderful Jesus God's Dearest Lamb
My Blessed Lord and the Great I AM
Many more titles may be for you
But to me you're my Savior in my heart so true
When I am going through a trial I call on you
Sometimes life gets trying but you bring me through
No mountain too high no river too wide
The Great Holy Spirit is right by my side
You are my constant companion my all in all
I'll be coming Home when I hear the call
Maybe by death or meet you in the air
I'll be pleased with either just so I get there
Oh, sinner take heed don't deny our God
His precious arms are open to hold you so dear
He'll take you and shelter you away from all pain
He'll save your soul and sweet Heaven you'll gain
Oh what Beauty in Heaven no man's ever seen
Fields of wildflowers and grass that's so green
Each of us will have a mansion no more will we cry
We'll just begin living when others say we die
The Path
There is an old well worn path
At the end of my road
Where you can find me quite often
To lighten this heavy load
I often speak about my children
And ask for their protection
That they turn their life to Thee
And go in the right direction
Sometimes I just meditate
And look over the old farm
It still holds all it's beauty
And it's old fashion charm
Maybe I come to ask forgiveness
For mistakes I have made
Feeling low and sorry
From the path I had strayed
I always feel uplifted
After these little walks I take
To have a talk with Jesus
All others to forsake
I find Him always here waiting
Matters not the day or hour
Ready to hold me near His bosom
With His sweet healing power
He will never leave or forsake me
A promise He has given
He'll stay with me till the end
With This power I am driven
So many times I've walked to old path
To find sweet solace there
In the years that's come and gone
I have learned my Savior cares
I hope you have a secret closet
That you can go when in need
And have a little talk with Jesus
That may be just what you need
When I am heavy laden
I know just where to go no doubt
I just take a walk on the old path
And my Savior lifts me out
Memories
I remember Oh Suzanna
Don’t you cry for me
A song that I learned many years ago
Sitting on my Pappy’s knee
Stick horses were a plenty
Mud pies I made many
June bugs tied with a string
OH the wonders a childhood can bring
An old swing on a Maple tree
I could be anyone I wanted to be
When I’d swing high into the sky
My imagination was set free
Grassy fields and high hills
I remember all the thrills
Of climbing high to bring home the cows
And the sounds of a whippoorwill
I dug fish worms in the dew
An old cane pole and a hook or two
I’d try my luck down by the creek
But the big ones I brought home few
Lazy summer days so fine
Have them still all in my mind
Not a worry to darken my day
Everything was sweet sublime
Catching fireflies in a jar
I would wish upon a star
Star light star bring first star I seen tonight
Thinking life would be the same tomorrow
I had a puppy dog and piggy tails
Many freckles and one dimple
Nothing fancy to fill my days
Life back then was quite simple
My wish would be that my grandchildren
Could live one day such as I
No TV no DVD no video games to distract
I was not bored there was too much to try
“Natures Toys” they call them
They’re the very best brand
Your own imagination and things grown on the land
How I wish that things could be that way again
~*~Somewhere~*~
Far Far away in a beautiful somewhere
When I close my eyes I'll be there I know
In a garden of love I'll happily stand there
And be with my Savior the God that I love
These old earthly clothes and this body I live in
Will be planted somewhere that's pretty I know
There'll be no comparison as to where I am going
To be with my loved ones that's gone on before
If you will believe this story I tell you
You can go with me or follow close by
But if God's Words to you mean nothing
I am so sorry that you'll have to die
The Place you'll be going is fire and destruction
Sentenced for life to eternal flame
Just read your dear Bible and believe on our Master
Then my house and your house can sure be the same
Psa 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect
converting the soul:
the testimony of the LORD is sure
making wise the simple.
Psa 19:8 The statutes of the LORD are right
rejoicing the heart:
the commandment of the LORD is pure
enlightening the eyes.
Psa 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean
enduring for ever:
the judgments of the LORD are true
and righteous altogether.
Psa 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold,
yea, than much fine gold:
sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb
I feel a longing in my heart
A yearning I can’t explain
An unknown place I’m seeking
Away from this world of pain
A place where there’s peace and love
A land of perfection I’ll find
Oh, such a contrast in that place
And the one I’ll leave behind
I want sit by a peaceful stream
Just rest my weary soul
Where Jesus Christ is the light
And a story not yet been told
They say the walls are jasper
The most elegant you can find
What a sweet and precious sound
Compared to what I leave behind
The world I live in is filled with woe
Wars and crime constantly prevail
‘But all that would be left behind
When toward this other land I sail
All the pain we must endure
Is constant in my mind
Sin, shame and the devils deeds
Is what I’ll leave behind
Look inside my heart I ask Thee Lord
To see just what I feel
You see my soul needs to be set free
And to Your command, I’ll yield
I’m packed up and I’m ready now
You may call me any time
I’m looking forward to that day
And to all I’ll leave behind
My son, my son,
you cannot come to me,
My heart is empty,
full of hurt and pain.
My arms that held you
while you slept in death
Have yearned e'er since
to hold you once again.
The moment you arrived,
my heart was glad.
That first, sweet cry-
how joyful to my ears;
In only but a few,
short, dreadful moments,
My joyful face
would shed it's saddest tears.
Your tender face,
so sweet and full of peace
Seemed like an angel's face-
it was so pure!
There were no blights of sin
to scar your mind,
No trials that you ever must endure.
Your eyes were clear,
like one who's been redeemed.
Your heart knew not
the wounds of thoughtless friends
But when Lord Jesus
took you on to Heaven
Our pain and sorrow
seemed to know no bounds.
No doubt,
he was the image of his father,
And knew his mother's love
as few have known.
Our dreams, our hopes,
our plans and aspirations
Were snatched away
and we were left alone.
If he, our son,
our sweet and darling Peter,
Could speak to us
and be here for a day,
I wonder what he'd do
and what he'd look like,
I wonder how he'd act
and what he'd say.
I think he'd hug
his mother and his father.
He'd look like Daddy
with his big, blue eyes.
He'd tell us
of the perfect peace in Heaven
Where all is love
and no-one ever cries,
How Jesus' arms
have held him as a baby.
And now, you know,
he's almost turning three.
He'd kiss us both
and we'd return his love.
My, what a blest experience
this would be!
I think he'd tell
his grieving, darling mother,
"I love and miss you,
but if you could see
Where I am living now,
I am so happy!
I'm here
with Jesus for eternity.
"He may have
spared you greater sorrow later,
Had I become a rebel,
strong and tall.
So please, dear mother,
trust the Lord's decision,
For Jesus always does
what's best for all.
"Please don't forget
to love our Blessed Jesus,
And ever serve Him
strong and faithfully.
You know that
I can never come to you,
But someday, Mommy,
you can come to me."
I doubt that here on earth
this ever happens,
But maybe in a dream
our minds can see
That this is somewhat
how it is in Heaven,
And it will last
for all eternity!
Cares and troubles so perplexing,
Yea, my weary soul are vexing.
Trying hard to steal my peace,
And pull me from God's keeping grace.
Despair and doubts rush through my mind-
Will I let them a dwelling find???
Or will I send them on their way,
Rejoicing that God plans my day,
And resting full that He does best,
And for my good sends every test???
I want to walk in step with God-
Not lag behind or run ahead.
Casting on Him all my care,
Knowing that He's always near.
Feelings come and feelings go
But what God says is always so
My worries, fretting all behind-
In Him,I'll find my peace of mind.
I want to reach the golden place
Where I rest solely in His grace.
In trusting, waiting, resting, too;
In ceasing from what I can do;
And holding only to His hand;
Letting Him draw up the plan;
Committing ALL to His design,
I'll die to self, to me and mine.
Yes, there and only there is rest,
And there I find God's very best,
And know that I'm His child, so dear.
He loves me so I need not fear.
He wants me to be more like Him;
He wants to lead me till the end.
To my dear Lord I will hold fast
READ Psalm 66 & 91
In perplexion, confusion, in doubt and despair,
And it seems that I cannot find God anywhere.
My prayers go unanswered and trouble won't end.
I'm sorely discouraged with hardly a friend.
The darts of ol' Satan come thickly and fast.
I wonder, O Lord, just how long will it last?
When those I call friends just cannot understand,
And I feel I'm betrayed, and with no helping hand.
I want to serve Jesus with true heart and pure,
But I find not within me the strength to endure.
I know God wants Glory through trials that come.
The purging and pain- will it ever be done?
I seem to forget how my God in the past
Has broken through clouds with the sunshine at last.
I forget all the prayers He has answered for me.
When I passed through the fog and again I could see.
I find that my faith just is not very strong.
It's hard to imagine myself with a song.
But there is a blest comfort in Jesus I find.
A promise He gave me-to this I'm resigned.
"I will be with you in trouble",He says,
"I will deliver and lengthen your days.
My pow'r in salvation you surely will see"
And also He promises to honor me.
Although I feel gloomy and wrapped in despair
He'll come with an answer to my feeble prayer.
I'll cling to Him though I cannot understand.
I know, by His Word, that He holdeth my hand.
My feelings deceitful, His promise is sure.
And so I must count on the things that endure.
Unto the Saviour would I flee for refuge
When my heart is bowing 'neath the load.
I feel I'm weary, footsore, and fainthearted.
Too much to move ahead upon life's road.
He promises to hear while we're yet speaking
And answer us before we're even calling.
His mercy is so bountious to His children.
I waver but His grace keeps me from falling.
Life's filled with much confusion,doubt & turmoil,
And when I find our closeness start to dim
He finds a way to show me He still loves me
And does His best to steady me again.
He may use circumstances harsh and bitter,
or gentle prompting from His precious Word.
He somehow gives assurance He is with me.
My sleeping spirit once again is stirred.
Not only is He with us, He is FOR us.
He'll let none stop us in our upward climb.
The purpose is to see us strong and faithful.
A soldier till the end is His design.
No weapon that is formed against God's children
Can prosper in the hands of all their foes.
We see a little time span in the present..
But God will make us win through trials & woes.
He then reminds us all things work together
For our own good, for blessing in the end,
He doesn't want to hurt us or destroy us.
He's fighting for us and He will defend.
He doesn't give us over to our own way
As soon as we have failed or cannot see.
He deals with us as sons, with mercy, kindness.
He understands and helps us lovingly.
O Lord, please help me be content and willing
To take each step by faith without foresight.
Please show me clearly when and how to take them
And give me grace to keep on in the flight.
An angel here, an angel there,
I’m surrounded by angels everywhere.
When I’m in the middle of a terrible storm
They come with their candles to keep me warm.
An angel to comfort, an angel to guide,
An angel to fill that dark hole inside.
An angel to cry on, an angel who cares,
Angels, angels, everywhere!
The angels who reach out when times are rough
Who’ll listen to all of my heartache and stuff,
In the bright sunshine and the dark of night,
The angels surround me with comforting light.
I guess God is busy and can’t come on down
To give me a smile and take care of my frown,
So He sent a few angels to brighten my day,
And help to carry my burdens away.
So thank you, dear angels, more than you’ll know,
For watering my happiness and making it grow!
Angel of mine
Who could you be
Just who is this angel
That's watching over me
Watching me laugh
Watching me cry
Making me smile
And drying my eye
Angel of mine
I know this is true
You watch over me
In all that I do
You may be gone
That may be true
But angel of mine
I still love you
WHY? ~~~~
Perhaps one day we’ll understand
Why God decided to take your hand
And lead you into Heaven above
surrounded by his tender love.
Never does a day pass by
that we don’t ask the question why?
Why did God take our precious son?
Was it something we had done?
We hope to face the Lord one day
and ask him why you couldn’t stay
on earth with those who loved you so,
those who wanted to see you grow.
We mourn for the things that will not be,
for the things with you, we'll never see.
the fun and games we'll never share,
for special times when you won't be there
No more to see your smiling face,
Nothing will ever take its place,
In our hearts you will always stay,
While we await that 'One Sweet Day'.
That 'One Sweet Day' in Heaven above,
Where we will meet and affirm our love.
Once more our arms will hold you tight,
As in God's presence we'll reunite.
Until that day, we must live our lives
Ensuring each memory of you survives,
And feel your presence, ever near,
each time we shed each painful tear.
"See you in Heaven", you'll hear us say,
as you watch over us every day,
Then when our lives on earth are done
We know you'll be the one to come.
You'll take us gently by the hand,
and lead us to God's Heavenly land,
where all together we will be,
our, once more, happy family.
Men Do Cry
I heard quite often "men don't cry"
though no one ever told me why
So when I fell and skinned a knee,
no one came by to comfort me.
And when some bully-boy at school
would pull a prank so mean and cruel
I'd quickly learn to turn and quip,
"It doesn't hurt," and bite my lip.
So as I grew to reasoned years,
I learned to stifle my tears.
Though "Be a big boy" it began,
quite soon I learned to "Be a man."
And I could play that stoic role
while storm and tempest wracked my soul.
No pain or setback could there be
could wrest one single tear from me.
Then one long night I stood nearby
and helplessly watched my son die.
And quickly found, to my surprise,
that all that tearless talk was lies.
And still I cry, and have no shame,
I can not play that "big boy" game.
And openly, without remorse,
I let my sorrow take its course.
So those of you who can't abide
a man you've seen who's often cried,
reach out to him with all your heart
as one whose life's been torn apart.
For men do cry when they can see
their loss of immortality.
And tears will come in endless streams
when mindless fate destroys their dreams
A Child Loaned
"I'll lend you for a little time
A child of Mine," He said,
"For you to love the while he lives,
And mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years
Or twenty-two or three,
But will you, till I call him back,
Take care of him for Me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you,
And should his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories
As solace for your grief."
"I cannot promise he will stay,
Since all from earth return.
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn.
I've looked this wide world over,
In my search for teachers true.
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes,
I have selected you.
Now will you give him all your love,
Not think the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call
And take him back again?"
I fancied that I heard them say,
"Dear Lord, Thy will be done,
For all the joy Thy child shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness,
We'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known,
Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for him,
Much sooner than we planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
And try to understand."
IF ROSES GREW IN HEAVEN.
If Roses grow in Heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother's arms
and tell her they're from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but there's an ache within my heart
that will never go away.
A BUTTERFLY LIGHTS BESIDE US.
"A butterfly lights beside us, like a sunbeam...
and for a brief moment it's glory
and beauty belong to our world...
but then it flies on again, and although
we wish it could have stayed,
we are so thankful to have seen it at all."
To My Dear Family
Some things I'd like to say,
But first of all to let you know
That I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven
Where I dwell with God above,
Where there's no more tears or sadness
There is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy
Just because I'm out of sight,
Remember that I'm with you
Every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you
When my life on Earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me
And He said I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again
You were missed while you were gone,
As for your dearest family
They'll be here later on.
I need you here so badly
As part of My big plan,
There's so much that we have to do
To help our mortal man.
Then God gave me a list of things
He wished for me to do,
And foremost on that list of mine
Is to watch and care for you.
And I will be beside you
Every day and week and year,
And when you're sad I'm standing there
To wipe away the tear.
And when you lie in bed at night
The days chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you
In the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on Earth
And all those loving years,
Because you're only human
They are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry
It does relieve the pain,
Remember there would be no flowers
Unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you
Of all that God has planned,
But if I were to tell you
You wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain
Though my life on Earth is o're,
I am closer to you now
Than I ever was before.
And to my very many friends
Trust God knows what is best,
I'm still not far away from you
I'm just beyond the crest.
There are rocky roads ahead of you
And many hills to climb,
But together we can do it
Taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy
And I'd like it for you, too,
That as you give unto the world
So the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody
Who is in sorrow or in pain,
Then you can say to God at night
My day was not in vain.
And now I am contented
That my life it was worthwhile,
Knowing as I passed along the way
I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody
Who is down and feeling low,
Just lend a hand to pick him up
As on your way you go.
When you are walking down the street
And you've got me on your mind,
I'm walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind.
And when you feel the gentle breeze
Or the wind upon your face,
That's me giving you a great big hug
Or just a soft embrace.
And when it's time for you to go
From that body to be free,
Remember you're not going
You are coming here to me.
And I will always love you
From that land way up above,
Will be in touch again soon
P.S. God sends his love.
In tears I saw you sinking,
I watched you fade away.
You suffered much in silence,
you fought so hard to stay.
You faced your task with courage.
Your spirit did not bend,
and still you kept on fighting until the very end.
God saw you getting tired.
When a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you and whispered "come to me".
So when I saw you sleeping So peaceful, free from pain.
I could not wish you back
to suffer that again.
THE HILLSIDE
In tall grass above the branch.
I smell the sweet loam,
Watching the water flow to the river,
Winding its way home.
Sheep graze nearby, watchful,
Alert to sounds of a lamb’s mewing,
Each lifts her white face, ears flicker,
Reassured, resumes her complacent chewing.
Lambs frolic in the warmth of spring,
Running, clicking heels in play,
As they jump into the air like,
Students practicing a wild ballet.
Streaming through the air,
Fluttering near my face,
Orange and black Monarch butterflies,
Settle on stalks of Queen Ann’s Lace.
Flowers gently rock in the breeze,
Butterfly ornaments adorn each bouquet,
Mother sheep call their lambs.
Their soft sounds fill the day.
Mother Nature’s final show,
Will always be there for me.
This day and this place,
Remain deep in my memory,
There will always be a hillside
On a warm spring day,
Where butterflies float by,
And lambs run and play.
Traveling On My Knees
Last night I took a journey
To a land across the seas.
I didn't go by ship or plane
I traveled on my knees.
I saw so many people there
In bondage to their sin,
And Jesus told me I should go,
That there were souls to win.
But I said "Jesus, I can't go
To lands across the seas."
He answered quickly, "Yes, you can
By traveling on your knees."
He said, "You pray, I'll meet the need.
You call, and I will hear.
It's up to you to be concerned
For lost souls far and near."
And so I did; knelt in prayer,
Gave up some hours of ease,
And with the Savior by my side,
I traveled on my knees.
As I prayed on, I saw souls saved
And twisted persons healed,
I saw God's workers strength renewed
While laboring in the field.
I said, "Yes Lord, I'll take the job.
Your heart I want to please.
I'll heed Your call and swiftly go
By traveling on my knees."
TO MY BELOVED HUSBAND
I could have purchased a Hallmark card with a very pretty verse,
But I thought this year I'd write my own to express how I feel.
I often reminisce about the time when we first met;
It seems like yesterday though many years have passed.
Our lives have had its trials and we survived them all.
With your strength and courage we came out of each
With me loving you all the more.
The many things you do for me mean more than I can say,
For I know that is a show of love and it's appreciated every day.
I want you to know that I love you today more than ever before
And I'm certain that tomorrow I'll love you even more.
Some folks ride the train of life
Looking out the rear,
Watching miles of life roll by,
And marking every year.
They sit in sad remembrance,
Of wasted days gone by,
And curse their life for what it was,
And hang their head and cry.
But I don't concern myself with that,
I took a different vent,
I look forward to what life holds,
And not what has been spent.
So strap me to the engine,
As securely as I can be,
I want to be out on the front,
To see what I can see.
I want to feel the winds of change,
Blowing in my face,
I want to see what life unfolds,
As I move from place to place.
I want to see what's coming up,
Not looking at the past,
Life's too short for yesterdays,
It moves along too fast.
So if the ride gets bumpy,
While you are looking back,
Go up front, and you may find,
Your life has jumped the track.
It's all right to remember,
That's part of history,
But up front's where it's happening,
There's so much mystery.
The enjoyment of living,
Is not where we have been,
It's looking ever forward,
To another year and ten.
It's searching all the byways,
Never should you refrain,
For if you want to live your life,
You gotta drive the train.
THE TIME IS NOW
If you are ever going to love me,
Love me now, while I can know
The sweet and tender feelings
Which from true affection flow,
Love me now while I am living,
Do not wait until I'm gone
And then have it chiseled in marble,
Sweet words on ice-cold stone.
If you have tender thoughts of me,
Please tell me now.
If you wait until I'm sleeping,
Never to awaken,
There will be death between us,
and I won't hear you then.
So, if you love me, even a little bit,
Let me know it while I am living
So I can treasure it.
The Rose Within
A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully, and before it blossomed, he examined it. He saw the bud that would soon blossom-but also the thorns. And he thought, "How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns?"
Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and before it was ready to bloom, it died. So it is with many people. Within every soul there is a rose. The God-like qualities planted in us at birth grow amid the thorns of our faults.
Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects. We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies. We never realize our potential. Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else must show it to them.
One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns and find the rose within others.This is the characteristic of love: to look at a person and, knowing his faults, recognize the nobility in his soul and help him realize that he can overcome his faults. If we show him the rose, he will conquer the thorns. Then will he blossom, blooming forth thirty, sixty, a hundred-fold as it is given to him.
Our duty in this world is to help others by showing them their roses and not their thorns. Only then can we achieve the love we should feel for each other; only then can we bloom in our own garden.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
I cannot pray "OUR," if my faith has no room for others and their need.
I cannot pray "FATHER," if I do not demonstrate this relationship to God in my daily living.
I cannot pray "WHO ART IN HEAVEN," if all of my interests and pursuits are in earthly things.
I cannot pray "HALLOWED BE THY NAME," if I am not striving for God's help to be holy.
I cannot pray "THY KINGDOM COME," if I am unwilling to accept God's rule in my life.
I cannot pray "THY WILL BE DONE," if I am unwilling or resentful of having it in my life.
I cannot pray "IN EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN," unless I am truly ready to give myself to God's service here and now.
I cannot pray "GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD," without expending honest effort for it or if I would withhold from my neighbor the bread I receive.
I cannot pray "FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US," if I continue to harbor a grudge against anyone.
I cannot pray "LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION," if I deliberately choose to remain in a situation where I am likely to be tempted.
I cannot pray "DELIVER US FROM EVIL," if I am not prepared to fight with my life and my prayer.
I cannot pray "THINE IS THE KINGDOM," if I am unwilling to obey the King.
I cannot pray "THINE IS THE POWER AND THE GLORY," if I am seeking power for myself and my own glory first.
I cannot pray 'FOREVER AND EVER," if I am too anxious about each day's affairs.
I cannot pray "AMEN," unless I honestly say "Not MY will, but THY will be done, so let it be.
"But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your heavenly Father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask Him. (Matthew 6:7-8)
Once in a golden hour
I cast to earth a seed.
Up there came a flower,
The people said, a weed.
To and fro they went
Thro' my garden-bower,
And muttering discontent
Cursed me and my flower.
Then it grew so tall
It wore a crown of light,
But thieves from o'er the wall
Stole the seed by night.
Sow'd it far and wide
By every town and tower,
Till all the people cried
`Splendid is the flower.'
Read my little fable:
He that runs may read.
Most can raise the flowers now,
For all have got the seed.
And some are pretty enough,
And some are poor indeed;
And now again the people
Call it but a weed.
The special people in this world are the most precious and appreciated people of all. No matter what happens, they always understand. They go a million miles out of their way. They hold your hand. They bring you smiles, when a smile is exactly what you need. They listen and they hear what is said in the spaces between the words. They care and they let you know you're in their prayers.
Special people always know the perfect thing to do. They can make your whole day just by saying something that no one else could have said. Sometimes you feel like they share with you a secret language that others can't tune into. Special people can guide you, inspire you, comfort you, and light up your life with laughter. Special people understand your moods and nurture your needs, and they lovingly know just what you're after.
When your feelings come from deep inside and need to be spoken to someone; you don't have to hide them, you share ... with special people. When good news comes, special people are the first ones you turn to, and when feelings overflow and tears need to fall, special people help you through it all.
Special people bring sunlight into your life. They warm your world with their presence, whether they are far away or close by your side. Special people are gifts that bring happiness, and treasures that money can't buy. And You Are a Special Person.
Someone's Praying
Somewhere someone's praying
Down upon their knees
Lifting you before the Throne
With love and gentle pleas
Asking God to give you strength
To face another day
And when the night is darkest
Shine light upon your way
Somewhere someone's kneeling
To whisper your name in prayer
Knowing that you need to feel
God's love and tender care
They intercede on your behalf
Because they love you so
Knowing that you have a need
To their Father they will go
They pray when you're not able
To speak a single word
What peace there is in knowing
Their prayers will be heard
They lay you on the altar
As they kneel there at His feet
Giving all your cares to Him
There at the mercy seat
Our God is always listening
To every earnest prayer
When we look to Him for help
The answer is always there
It's such a comfort to know
That someone prays for you
Placed within His loving hands
Those prayers will see you through
As you kneel before the Father
Thank Him for those who care
When you bow before the mercy seat
Whisper their name in prayer
BONDS OF LOVE
When days are filled with sunshine
how close we hold a friend,
It's good to share the laughter
and dreams that have no end.
And it's fun exchanging
some episode of fun
And finding much in common,
in all that you have done.
But when the days are shadowed
and touched with pain or grief,
The bonds of friendship tighten
almost beyond belief.
The burdens aren't so heavy
when someone takes your hand,
And not a word is needed
for true friends to understand.
The world would be more lonely
in sunny hours or gray,
Without the bonds of friendship
to help us every day!
Flow down, cold rivulet, to the sea,
Thy tribute wave deliver:
No more by thee my steps shall be,
For ever and for ever.
Flow, softly flow, by lawn and lea,
A rivulet then a river:
No where by thee my steps shall be,
For ever and for ever.
But here will sigh thine alder tree,
And here thine aspen shiver;
And here by thee will hum the bee,
For ever and for ever.
A thousand suns will stream on thee,
A thousand moons will quiver;
But not by thee my steps shall be,
For ever and for ever.
If you put a buzzard in a pen six or eight feet square and entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of his ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a run of ten or twelve feet. Without space to run, as is his habit, he will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top.
The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkably nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.
A Bumblebee if dropped into an open tumbler will be there until it dies, unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom. It will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself.
In many ways, there are lots of people like the buzzard, the bat, and the bee. They are struggling about with all their problems and frustrations, not realizing that the answer is right there "above" them.
I Many Times Thought
I many times thought peace had come
When peace was far away,
As wrecked men deem they sight the land
When far at sea they stay.
And struggle slacker, but to prove,
As hopelessly as I,
That many the fictitious shores
Before the harbor lie.
If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord your soul to keep.
If I knew it would be the last time that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss and call you back for one more.
If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day.
If I knew it would be the last time, I could spare an extra minute or two,
to stop and say that "I love you," Instead of assuming that you KNOW I do.
If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day,
well, I'm sure you'll have so many more, So I can let this one slip away.
For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance to make everything alright.
There will always be another day to say our "I love you's,
" And certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do's."
But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you and hope we never forget.
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight.
So, if you're waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes, you'll surely regret the day,
That you didn't take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or kiss,
And you were too busy to grant someone, what turned out to be their one last wish.
So hold your loved ones close today, whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them, And that you'll always hold them dear.
Take the time to say, "I'm sorry" "please forgive me" "thank you" or "It's ok".
And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today.
man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead. He remembered dying, and that the dog had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them.
After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight. When he was standing before it, he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother of pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold.
He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side. When he was close enough, he called out, "Excuse me, where are we?"
"This is Heaven, sir," the man answered.
"Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked.
"Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up." The man gestured, and the gate began to open.
"Can my friend," gesturing toward his dog, "come in, too?" the traveler asked.
"I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets."
The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going. After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road which led through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence. As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book.
"Excuse me!" he called to the reader. "Do you have any water?"
"Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there" The man pointed to a place that couldn't be seen from outside the gate.
"Come on in."
"How about my friend here?" the traveler gestured to the dog.
"There should be a bowl by the pump."
They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it. The traveler filled the bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog.
When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree waiting for them.
"What do you call this place?" the traveler asked.
"This is Heaven," was the answer.
"Well, that's confusing," the traveler said. "The man down the road said that was Heaven, too."
"Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's Hell."
"Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?"
"No. I can see how you might think so, but we're just happy that they screen out the folks who'll leave their best friends behind.
When you are tired and discouraged from fruitless efforts...
God knows how hard you have tried.
When you've cried so long and your heart is in anguish...
God has counted your tears.
If you feel that your life is on hold and time has passed you by...
God is waiting with you.
When you're lonely and your friends are too busy even for a phone call...
God is by your side.
When you think you've tried everything and don't know where to turn...
God has a solution.
When nothing makes sense and you are confused or frustrated...
God has the answer.
If suddenly your outlook is brighter and you find traces of hope...
God has whispered to you.
When things are going well and you have much to be thankful for...
God has blessed you.
When something joyful happens and you are filled with awe...
God has smiled upon you.
When you have a purpose to fulfill and a dream to follow...
God has opened your eyes and called you by name.
Remember that wherever you are or whatever you are facing...
GOD KNOWS
GOD IS ALWAYS NEAR
One thing can always cheer me
When I'm feeling sad and low
When I tired of daily trials
That I have to undergo,
When those who should
Seem closest, seem like
People I don't know,
One thing can always cheer me
I know that God is near me.
One thing can always cheer me
When I do not understand
How pain and sadness
In our lives
Can get so out of hand,
When the best of human efforts
Doesn't meet the days demands,
One thing can always cheer me
I know that God is always near me.
One thing can always cheer me
More than anything I've known
And show me I will never
Have to struggle on my own
For no matter what might happen
I will never be alone
The thing that will always cheer me
Is just knowing God is near me.
Our lives are in God's loving
Hands, in everything we do
He is with us constantly,
He always sees us through.
And if our faith is strong enough
We'll never walk alone,
For with His great and perfect love
He takes care of His own.
