DAVID SESSUMS Obituary
He was a firefighter for the city of Petersburg and a dispatcher for A&B Ambulance in Hopewell.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joanne Sessums; two children, his son, Earl Sessums and his wife, Cindy; his daughter Crystal Rybkin and her husband, Michael; and "adopted" daughter, Danielle Shoaf; seven grandchildren, Taylor, David, Joseph, Colton and Isbella Sessums, Austin, Mathew and Alyssa Rybkin; sister, Marilyn McQuage; mother-in-law, Martha King; numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation and a memorial service will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, at West End Baptist Church in Dinwiddie. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions for final expenses. Donations may be mailed to Joanne Sessums, 4106 Chestnut Drive, Petersburg, VA 23803.

Joanne: Bobby, the children and myself are very sorry for your loss. We have many fond memories of David especially while working with him at A&B Ambulance. I especially loved running into him at Food Lion. He also took the time to catch up with me and always gave me a big hug. Much love to you and the family.

Joanne, I'm so sorry to hear of Earl's passing. I've known him since elementary school and it was a shock to Ronnie and me. Take care and be strong for your children. I know you're going to miss your "best friend" and soulmate. Know that your and your children are in our prayers.

David was quite a character to be around in the firehouse and elsewhere. He will be greatly missed.
