Edith Chasteen

Edith Pearl Chasteen, 93, of Dinwiddie County, went to be with Christ on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Born in Valier, MT, she was one of four children born to the late William Bradford and Alice Ryan Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leamon Semore Chasteen, Jr. She was a woman of strong faith and a member of Western Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Chasteen is survived by her children, Loretta Kirby (Bill) of Indianapolis, IN, Donald L. Chasteen (Mary) of Stuart, VA, Aftan Overturf (Richard) FL, Barbara Daniels (Frank) of Dinwiddie, and Judy Branch (Paul) of Sutherland, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and a nephew, Richard Brown of Montana. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA 23805.
