EDWIN ROBBINS

1937 - 2021

Edwin William "Bill" Robbins Jr., 83, of Colonial Heights, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, January 31, 2021. He was born on November 18, 1937 in Bar Harbor Maine, to the late Edwin Robbins Sr. and Flora Young. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lester & Violet Young; wife, Faith McKay Robbins; son, Scott Robbins (Debbie); brother, Danny Robbins; daughter-in-law, Kathy Robbins.
Mr. Robbins proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years and retired as a Senior Chief Sonar Technician. Married his beloved wife December 31, 1960. He went on to work and retire from GE Electric as a Medical Equipment Technician. He enjoyed traveling during his early days, a great game of golf & a lobster dinner in retirement, being a member of the American Legion & having his friends & ever-growing family around.
Ed is survived by four sisters, Sally Vardamis, Abbie Savage, Mary Jane Piccirillo (Adam) and Penny Lyons (Jim); two brothers, Gary Robbins (Diana) and Fred Robbins; three children, Butch Robbins (Debbie), Deborah Slaughter (John), and Vicki Robbins; 6 grandchildren, Doug Slaughter (Melissa), Cindy Goshea (John), Carolyn Veizaga (Juan), Courtney Maurer (Jarred), Nikki Mapes, and Allison Gainous (Jason); 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.
A special acknowledgement of gratitude for his youngest daughter, Vicki Robbins who cared endlessly for him in his final years.
In keeping with the wishes of Ed, there will be no funeral service.
