Erick Harris Obituary
Erick Brandon Harris, 44, South Chesterfield, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021. He is preceded in death by his father Phillip Harris. He is survived by his mother, Chawn Harris; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in both his mom and dad's family; dear friends, and his life savers, first cousin and brother Ryan Stech, wife Kim, and their three boys; Jason Young; and Brook Hughes.
He graduated from Matoaca High School, and attended Richard Bland College.
Erick was known as Turnip, by most of his friends. He had medical issues his entire life, but he never let that hold him back, leaving many projects to his legacy. Erick loved to cook and try new food. Korean food was his favorite. He liked being outside working in the yard planting flowers and vegetables, fixing something, or sitting around the fire pit. Erick was funny, super smart, and a great Jeopardy player. His many interests included fishing, watching sports, listening to music, going to concerts, making silly music, comedy, video games, nerd stuff, and comics.
Erick will be fondly remembered, and missed by his mom, family and friends.
A sincere thank you to MCV doctors, nurses, and staff for your compassion, kindness, and lifetime care of Erick.
A celebration of life will be held May 23, 2021, 2pm – 6pm, at Matoaca Sportsman Club, 21005 Matoaca Road, Matoaca (South Chesterfield) VA.

Chawn , my heart hurts for you at the loss of Eric. My love and prayers to you, Brenda and Carlton especially. I never knew his immediate family, but my sincere condolences to them in their grief

Turnip was ALWAYS sweet to me and I am so thankful that I was given the opportunity to know him. He had a way of being comforting...he helped me understand that life changes and sometimes it’s time to move on. Chawn, my heart and love goes out to you, Ryan, Kim, Brook, Shannon, and Jason. Lots of love and hugs. Anytime I came over, I would throw a hug on Turnip and he would hug me back...he knew I was the huggy type and it never bothered him. I remember always being able to bring Slim with me. He loved Slim ♥

I'm thinking of you Chawn and the huge hole left in your heart and life. Ryan, Kim and the boys have lost their best friend and uncle too. My heart goes out to everyone that his life has touched, he will be missed by all who knew him, and that includes me.
