JEROME PARHAM

On Saturday, June 11, 2016, Mr. Jerome Parham, better known as Jerry transitioned from his earthly home to his Heavenly home.

Jerome was born on January 25, 1950, to the late Charles Lency Parham, Sr., and Carrie Harvell Parham. He was a graduate of Peabody High School and attended Norfolk State University. In his early years, he joined Good Shepherd Baptist Church.

Jerome was employed with Aqualon Chemical (formerly Hercules), Interbake Foods (formerly Nabisco) and Boar's Head Provision, Petersburg. He was very active in sports during his high school years. The love for his children was undeniable, if you asked about them the praises flowed with a big smile.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles L. Parham, Jr., and Molivett Parham.

Jerome leaves to cherish his memory one son, Jerone Hill (Letia) of Hopewell; two daughters, LeTonya Parson (Lamont) and Leticia Prise (James) of New Jersey; devoted friend, Dorothy Bruce of Richmond; sister-in-law, Shirley Parham; uncles, Daniel Parham (Mary) of Chesterfield and Clarence Parham of Petersburg; aunts, Gertrude H. Clarke and Lillian Wilkins (Horace), both of Prince George, Elsie

Morrison of Rochester, NY; nieces, Gabriel V. Hawkins of Georgia, Shelby Devantier-Rodriguez (Alberto) of Florida, Irma Williams-Hardison (Anthony) of Abu Dabbi and Angela Wade of Petersburg; nephew, Alphonso Parham of Chesterfield; ten grandchildren; host of other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016, at the chapel of Bland & Tucker Funeral Home, Petersburg, Elder Charles Williams, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Community Cemetery. The family will assemble at 11:30 a.m. at the Petersburg Chapel on the day of service.
