John J. Mouzalas

John James Mouzalas, 75, of Petersburg, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at Chippenham Medical Center.

He was the widower of Dollie A. Mouzalas, and the son of the late James Mouzalas. Mr. Mouzalas was a member of the St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Richmond, and retired as a phone crewman for ABC News and served in the United States Army.

He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda G. Siegel and husband, Joseph, of Fairfax Va., Deborah B. Smyth and husband, Stephan, of Richmond, Va., Carol P. Marciano and husband, William, of Deer Park, N.Y.; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward A. Bonjonia Jr. and wife, Arlene, of Fairfax, Va.; his mother, Gavaley N. Mouzalas of Petersburg, Va.; brother, Charles Mouzalas and wife, Patricia, of New York; his cherished grandchildren, Heather, Christopher, Michael, Cathy, Shaun, Amanda and Eddie; and two great-grandsons, Daniel and Andrew; and two nieces, Melissa and Melanie.

A funeral service will be held noon on Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Malvern Ave., Richmond, with Father John Manuel officiating. Interment Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Va. The family will receive friends at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, from 7 to 8:30 Thursday evening (tonight).
