MILTON MAYFIELD Obituary

On Sunday afternoon, October 8, 2017, our loved one transitioned from labor to reward at Southside Regional Medical Center. Milton Mayfield was born April 4, 1952. He was educated in the Chesterfield County Public Schools and was a bricklayer by trade. At an early age, Milton joined the Lee's Chapel A.M.E. Church, now Community Independence Methodist Church.

He had a love for fishing, football [Denver Broncos] and enjoyed a friendly game of cards with his friends, F. Taylor, R. Branch, L. Brooks, C. Woody, A. Wynn, to name a few.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Garland Evans Jr.; and brother, Willie Mayfield.

Milton leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Otelia Evans; devoted companion for over seventeen years, Elsie D. Epps; one daughter, Demetria Walker (Ron) and grandchildren, D'Asia Walker, D'Shay Smith, Ron Smith Jr., Ryan Smith, Royal Smith, D'Nay Rawlings and Diamond Rawlings; sister, Dolly Lively (Tony); four brothers, Richard, Keith (Gloria) and Tony Evans and Stefan Mayfield (Julia); sister-in-law, Audrey Evans; three aunts, Sarah Hines of Chesterfield, Va., Catherine Parham of Ford, Va., and Julia Mayfield. He also leaves his extended family, Monica Benjamin, Freddie Benjamin III and Tawanna Epps and Mrs. Ellen Drew; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family and friends, including devoted neighbors, Phoebe Brown and Thomas Brown and long-time and devoted friend, Mr. David D. Drew.

Services for Mr. Milton B. Mayfield will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, Va., Rev. Pate Pearson, Pastor of Community Independent Methodist Church, eulogist.
