I just learned of Roland's passing, today. Words cannot express the sadness I feel for his family and friends. I worked with Roland at TV-8. He was and will always be one of my favorite people there. Roland always had a big smile on his face and a big laugh. He spread sunshine into all of our lives. I pray that God's hand is on Roland's loved ones. I know he is in a better place, blessing others with his laughter and smile. May God be with you all.

Rest in peace, my brother. My condolences to the White family. May the peace of God be with you. Battery Park was my second home. I remember seeing Roland on the tennis courts. We knew each other, but didn't "know" each other, at least not until I got to Hampton. A great friend and frat brother. He will truly be missed.

To: The White Family,
I had the pleasure of meeting Roland over thirty-two years ago. I attended John F. Kennedy for my senior year. Roland was one of the very first classmates that made me feel welcome, as I was new to the class of 77. Roland had a humble spirit and kept a pleasant smile all of the time. I knew that he had a relationship with the Lord even then.
I know that you will miss him, but remember that his spirit will reside in you. May God comfort you and keep you during these difficult times.

Roland and I worked for almost 22 years together at TV8 to become close friends and colleages. I, as many of his coworkers, will miss him dearly. Roland always had a smile for everyone and his loss is truely great. He fought and battled his illness for a year and at times I thought he had beat it but God decided that it was his time to go to a better place to end his pain and suffering.

To the White family,
I can remember one of Roland's favorite songs..."I can only imagine". This let's me know that he was prepared in his heart for his journey. Although I am not able to quote the words of the song here, I encourage you to listen to them as they comfort you during this time. I've known Roland almost 30 years. What a kind, gental spirit. I was blessed to have met him. My heart aches knowing that he has transitioned, but I'm comforted in knowing that we shall all see him again. No more pain or suffering. His life has had an impact on all that knew him.
