SHERIDAN, ANGELA (TORTI)
age 70, died peacefully surrounded by her Family at Rhode Island Hospital on December 16, 2017. She was born January 26, 1947 in Providence Rhode Island the daughter of Irene and Emanuel Torti.
She is survived by the love of her life and devoted husband, Philip. They had been married for 49 and a half wonderful years.
Angela went back to college after her children were grown. She graduated from Rhode Island College earning a degree in education in 1993. She also held two masters from Providence College and Rhode Island College. Besides her family Angela's second devotion was teaching. She worked nearly twenty years as a special education teacher in the Providence School System. Angela was a brave, strong, beautiful and loving wife, mother, nana and sister. She will be missed by many.
Angela leaves behind her husband Philip A. Sheridan, LTC (R); son and daughter in law Philip E. Sheridan COL (R) and Jennifer D. Sheridan of Portsmouth RI; daughter and son in law Christine and Dr. Michael Shusterman of Needham, MA; three grandchildren Eleanor Sheridan, Abigail Shusterman and Matthew Shusterman. Angela also leaves behind four siblings Irene Urquhart, her identical twin, Bernadette Ross, Larry Torti and Emanuel Torti. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Thursday at 8:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Brigid Church, 1231 Plainfield St, Johnston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the Partial Hospital Program at Hasbro Children's Hospital, PO Box H, Providence, RI 02901. Phil, I just found out today about the passing of Angela. I think back to the numerous social activates that the Armor Team and Army Reserves had. You and Angela, with her radiant smile, were always there. We often talked at those functions and I remember what a true supporter she was of you, her family and the program!
