Barbara Ricci Obituary

RICCI, BARBARA M. (CORNELL), 77, of Woodward Road, passed away Tuesday, September 30th at the Rhode Island Hospital.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Leanos and Josephine (Donovan) Cornell and had been the wife of Peter P. Ricci for 57 years.

Mrs. Ricci worked for Cox Communications before retiring.

She was the mother of Peter E., Stephen W., Kevin M., Michael J. Ricci and the late Paul M. Ricci; grandmother of 8; sister of the late Walter, Thomas, Edward and Francis Cornell and Muriel Nichols.

Visitation will be held Friday, 5-8 p.m. with a funeral on Saturday at 8 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, with interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Boulevard, Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886. Dear Pete and your wonderful family,
I am so saddened by Barbara's death. Her suffering these months was just too much. Grief is so overwhelming. Please accept my sympathy and prayers for peace to all of you. A mother is the spirit of us all. She will always be with you in some way. Each time you think of her, she will be there. Enjoy good thoughts of her.
