Christopher Tasca Obituary

TASCA, CHRISTOPHER PAUL of Cranston, RI was born on June 13th 1954 to Robert and Lena Tasca (deceased). He faithfully placed his life in the hands of the Lord, Jesus Christ. On March 16th 2014, Christopher peacefully passed from this life to begin life anew in eternity. Christopher is survived by the love of his life, Pilar Tasca, and their four children, Eliana Tasca, Jacklyne Tasca Bulman and her husband Michael Bulman, Christopher Tasca, and Nicholas Tasca. In addition to immediate family, Christopher is survived by his older brother, Richard Tasca, and his wife Beth, his mother in law, Martha Torrado, his surviving aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters in law, cousins, nieces and nephews all of whom he held tremendous affection. Known to most as "CT", family was the center of his life. Pilar was his loving wife and his best friend. He held a uniquely special relationship with each of his four children which was built on his dedication to fatherhood. Friendship was another central theme in Christopher's life. He was a loyal and true friend to many. All his buddies would tell you he was the best guy you could ever know. Chris was President and co-founder of Wholesale Jewelry Supply for the past 30 years and shared partnership with his lifelong best friend, Joseph Montaquila. Above all else, Chris had unwaivering faith in Jesus Christ and strong devotion to the Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of Holy Apostles Parish in Cranston, RI and the RI chapter of Legatus. He lived his life deeply rooted in the core teachings of his faith which carried him through his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. CT's second love after his family was the Alpine Country Club. A member since childhood; he sat on the Board of Directors, served as tournament chairman for several years and co-chaired the Alpine's 50th anniversary celebration. Many of his fondest memories were at the club golfing with his buddies, enjoying Sunday dinners with his family, or a Friday evening at the Men's Grille. CT was a sports enthusiast. He loved baseball (Go Yankees) and was involved with Cranston Western Little League for over 15 years as a coach, on the Board of Directors, and later serving as Vice President of C.W.L.L. Chris enjoyed rooting on the Rhody Rams (his alma mater) for basketball games at the Ryan Center. "Every man's life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another." Ernest Hemingway Christopher Tasca, in life and death, embodied strength, grace, and integrity. His legacy will continue on in the hearts of all who knew him and will always be remembered. His funeral will be held Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. CALLING HOURS Wednesday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Chris's memory may be made to St. Patrick's Academy 244 Smith Street Providence, RI 02908. Dear Pilar and family,
I was shocked and saddened to receive a phone call in Florida that Chris had passed away. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to be there with you all, as I just returned yesterday. Chris and I met in first grade, and he always was a great guy. He was "one in a million", and always had a warm smile to greet everyone. There is a huge void in the universe where his presence used to reside. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.

Dear Pilar and family,
We are devastated to hear the news of Chris's passing. He had all the traits mentioned in the obituary and was also a wonderful neighbor. He always did a great job decorating your home for Christmas, a home where everyone was made to feel welcome. We may have lost touch since our move, but we will always remember our chats "across the fence", and the joy of witnessing your beautiful children mature, nurtured with the love of their parents. He will still be with all of you as he watches from his eternal home. Our sincere condolences and love are with you.

To the Tasca Family:
Though I haven't seen Chris since our college days, I will always think of him with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. He was truly kind, caring and considerate to everyone, and never, ever could anyone say a remotely negative word about him. Pilar, I remember when your family moved next to the Tasca's....that was it for Chris, love at first sight! I'm so pleased to see that such a deserving person lived a happy, fulfilling and worthwhile life. I am so sorry he had to go through what he did, but the way he lived his life with honor, integrity, and love assured him of a fast-track ride to Heaven.

Chris's devotion to God, spouse, children, family and friends defines him as a role model. The beautiful children that he and Pilar created and nourished with the Grace of God will carry his legacy forward. The days to come may feel dark and cold, but eternal love and memories shared will vanquish his passing. In time, the tears and grief will be replaced with smiles and joy and gratitude for the gift and the blessing that was bestowed upon us in the form of Chris Tasca. May the Peace of the Lord be with you and comfort you.

Chris has been in my daily prayers since his first diagnosis. He fought so courageously as did you all, keeping a positive attitude that our Lord would get you through this terrible trial. We know for certain that he is at peace and enjoying his reward. Because of your tremendous faith you know this is true. Dearest Pilar and Family:

Nancy and I offer our most sincere condolences to you all. I had the pleasure of growing up with Chris and the Tasca Family as we lived just a door or two from each other in Cranston. Even then, as children, it was clear that Chris was destined to be a true man - a loving and solid family man, a man of faith and conviction, a man of true business talents, a dependable friend. His mannerism and approach to life gave all around him a feeling of comfort. His approachable manner invited, captured and embraced friendship.

Above all, he had a true love for his family and clearly you all for him.

While this is a truly difficult time, we hope that you each find comfort and happiness in your memories of Chris, his contributions to all our lives and his devotion to all.

He was a true gentleman.
