Germaine Greene Obituary

GREENE, GERMAINE "GERRY" "BLUE DOVE" 74, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Kent Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Chief Wilfred "Eagle Heart" Greene and a daughter of the late Loretta (Thibodeau) Maykas; loving mother of Rhoda Skorupa, Desiree Perry, Erin Morrison, Stasia Buccini, Wilfred Greene, III and John Greene; sister of Irene Burke the late Yvonne Penn, Leo Prevey and Robert Maykas. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Gerry was a retired paralegal, manager of the former Copper Galley and polker dealer at Foxwoods Casino. She also worked 18 years at Ann & Hope in Warwick. Gerry attended Providence College and was very supportive to her husband and children throughout her life. Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Rita Church, Oakland Beach Ave. Burial will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Happy Mother's Day Mom! There is not a day that passes that your not thought of and missed . You always put family first and you made us who we've become . You were always so strong and giving. Dear Greene family, I am so saddened by this news. I knew she was sick and we know now she is in heaven with Jesus and in his resting arms. But, I know this must be so hard for you "Mr.Greene" and the rest of the family. You were a great husband and father and I am praying for you now for strength. Mrs. Greene was an awesome woman. I remember as a kid she always had a smile on her face or made jokes about everything in life.
