Masonic Prayer for the Departed Brother Joel Toby

Let us pray. Supreme Grand Master, author of all good and giver of all mercy. Pour down Thy blessings upon the family of our Adelphoi Lodge #33 brother, Joel Toby, who recently joined you in the Celestial Lodge above.

Strengthen our solemn engagements with the ties of sincere affection!

May the present instance of mortality remind us of our approaching fate, and draw our attention toward Thee, the only refuge in time of need that, when the awful moment shall arrive that we are about to quit this transitory scene, the enlivening prospect of Thy mercy may dispel the gloom of death.

Joel was extremely active in the community and represented the Craft with high distinction.

Besides his wife of 55 years, Elaine, Brother Joel leaves two sons: Mark H. Tobey and James A. Tobey and a daughter, Judith T. Anderson. Along with two brothers, Joshua Tobey and 8 grandchildren: Daniel, Nikki, Samuel, Marina; Nathaniel, Robert; Ashley and Eric.

After our departure hence in peace, and in Thy favor, may Joel be received into Thine everlasting kingdom, to enjoy, in union with the souls of our departed Masonic brethren, the just reward of a pious and virtuous life.

So mote it be.
