Kathleen Holscher Obituary

HOLSCHER, KATHLEEN L. (LAPOINTE), 80, of Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston, formerly of Beachwood Drive, retired operator of Holscher Greenhouses, died Thursday in Cedar Crest Nursing Centre, Cranston. She was the wife of the late John F. Holscher Sr. Born in Malone, NY, a daughter of the late Avila and Dora (Moquin) LaPointe, she had lived in Johnston before moving to Warwick in 1972.

Mrs. Holscher operated Holscher Greenhouses Inc., Johnston, along with her husband from 1950 until retiring in 1988. She was a former member of the Rhode Island Florist Association, and enjoyed gardening and cooking.

She is survived by a son, John F. Holscher Jr. of Hope; a daughter, Patrice A. Mason of Beverly Hills, CA; a brother, Maurice LaPointe of Canada; two sisters, Jacqueline DesRoches and Susan Heuff both of Canada; and a daughter-in-law, Joyce Holscher. She was the sister of the late John LaPointe, Margo Washington, and Lucille Brunette.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Rt.5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Requiem Eucharist at 11:00 a.m. in St. Barnabas Church, 3257 Post Road, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday 9-10:30 a.m.
