Rita Abrams

ABRAMS, RITA J. (WASSERMAN) passed away peacefully at her home in Warwick, surrounded by her children. She was the daughter of the late Rose (Coppersmith) and Mack Wasserman of Providence. She is the beloved mother of four children, Joyce Abrams-Ball of Cranston, Steven S. Abrams and his wife, Paige of West Hartford, CT, Lori Abrams of Providence, and Lynn Abrams and her husband Pat Cull of Cranston. She is survived by her older brother, Gilbert Wasserman, of CA, whom she spoke to daily. She will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren, Ilanna Ball, Jaime Yetra, and Ellie and Wyatt Abrams. She also leaves her two nephews and three nieces. She was the sister of the late Arthur H. Wasserman, and she was the former wife of the late Everett J. Abrams. Rita loved listening to music and she was an avid opera buff. In her later years, she enjoyed watching the Red Sox. She spent many hours a day on her computer, reading many newspapers, playing Scrabble and Gin Rummy with people across the nation, and getting lost in the wealth of information at her fingertips. At various times, the Abrams family belonged to Temple Beth-El and Temple Sinai. Rita always said she lived a charmed life because of the joy her children brought her. She was a devoted mother and in turn, her children were devoted to her, especially the past several years as her health was failing. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten by her children and grandchildren. The funeral service and burial will be held Monday, December 22nd at 2 PM in Swan Point Cemetery.
