I'll always remember my first encounter with Steve. It was my freshman year at UVM, I was hanging out at Living and Learning , he asked me if I wanted to play a game of cribbage. I didn't know how to play. His patience and teaching ability made a lasting impression. We bonded during those card games. Everytime I see a deck of cards I'll remember my friend. RIP buddy

I will always remember Steve as a positive, fun, and deep person who was always ready to lend an ear to his friends. Steve always seemed able to recognize the significance and beauty of time spent with friends. He was able to relate to people in many ways because of his many interests. His passing is a true loss. I'll really miss him.

To the Wild family,
I'm very sorry to learn of Stephen's passing.
I moved to Pawtucket in the 7th grade, and by my recollection Stephen was one of the first to introduce himself to me at Goff Jr. High, making an immediate impression. He was so outgoing, friendly and confident, with a huge smile and terrific laugh. He was also intelligent, athletic and artistic.
I have fond memories of hanging out with Stephen including a road trip to Lake Winnipesaukee with cousin Jeff and other friends.
I'm sure that Stephen will live on through those that he touched.

I am so sad that Stephen has passed. He was such a huge part of my childhood and the Vine Street Gang. He taught 13 other kids on the block not to be afraid to try new things, see life "your" way, and simply have fun. I was there for him when he was sad after his first real girlfriend breakup then he was there for me showing me what UVM would be like if I attended. Kickball, cock-a-rooster, whiffle ball, street hockey, chase, back track, hawk swing at dagget woods--- not the typical games kids had growing up-- but what fantastic games we made & played. Yes, we all had life off Vine St but Vine St formed who we became and I thank Stephen and the gang for that. I will miss you Stephen and I hope our gang knows we are still as ONE and shall always love each other even when we're all over the place. Peace to you all. Love, Allison M (aka Al)

I have tremendous memories of spending my summers with Stephen when we were kids, then later living with Stephen during our high school years. We were extremely competitive (in a good way) I think we enhanced each others lives and shaped each others character and we thrived together, we were like brothers. Spending time in Hew Hampshire, with lots of quarters in our pockets for the arcades, and captaining the grasshopper, are some of the best memories of my childhood. We did so many things together and had many life changing moments that I will cherish until I join him. Thank you for being my cousin, friend and brother, I am a better person for having known you.

Steve what can I say to remember you. Words dont seem to do it justice. So Ill write thoughts of some of our good times.

Playing guitar in living and learning. Playing together in Trip Thru Time. Us taking math classes at UVM together. Hall hockey. Hiking up mount Mansfield. Skiing in Colorado. Many Labor Day weekends together. Your smile. Playing cribbage. Many late night conversations. Going to Red Sox games. Playing softball. Visiting your parents lake house. Backyard Bocci.

You were a good friend and someone who your family should know had a positive influence on me.

I love you Steve-Man and know that you will be missed.

I knew Steve in college. In fact, he was my RA music director for the Instrumental Music program in the Living/Learning center 1985-86. I have many fond memories of his cheerful presence, his musical talents, and the times we all enjoyed when he was around. Deepest condolences to friends and family.

Stephen - thank you for so many wonderful childhood memories. You were the first and only supreme leader of the Vine Street Gang, and an expert in everything you did, including: yard backtrack navigation, unicycle piloting, bicycle non-piloting (ghost riding), Chopper biking, Big Wheel demolition derbies, painfully accurate snowball throwing, savant piano playing, balance boarding, NH dirt road driving with no lights on, Grasshopper captaining and the only person who could turn a TRS 80 into Watson. Your XWILDX plate was a perfect summation of you - rare and rarified, special and the first person to give cool' it's meaning. You will be missed tremendously and I am happy and honored to have known you for such a short time in this life. You were, are and always will be a child of God which means you were, are and always will be loved.

When I was 10, Stephen was the love of my life! I admired him for SO many things. He was incredibly talented at the piano, could run like The Flash, could climb anything, do flips standing still... he was a talented athlete. Stephen was extremely smart and for a long time, we brought every New Year In together. We spent many days playing outdoor games with the Vine Street Gang during summers... I always hoped he was on my team because I knew we would win. Guaranteed Stephen is still winning games and playing beautiful music in heaven. I pray for Phyllis and Harry.... I am so sorry. May you find peace. Love, Carolyn
