I will always remember my Uncle Bill as a dynamic, life-loving, athletic presence in our family. He had been humbled these past few years with his health problems and the awareness of his loss of physical prowess tested his self esteem. But nothing prepared him for the incredible pain and loss of his daughter Judy last year. He was so broken and disheartened but in Aunt Claire's words still full of determination to regain his physical health. In spite of all the turmoil he has faced these past years, he continued to try to heal and even welcomed the help of the staff and PT at the nursing home. For a proud, tough man to accept that help, that is quite an accomplishment- and something to be admired.

My Uncle Bill embraced life with enthusiasm and determination to experience all that life had to offer. I will fondly remember discussions with him at family parties, his ability to tell a story with color and flair, his swagger when he played jazz on the piano and his smiling eyes when he would talk of his wild football days and 'hole-in-ones' at area golf courses. He took great delight in retelling stories of his children and grandchildren. He could be bigger than life at times and overwhelm some but during these past few years we were able to see a softer side of him. His health slowed him down and indirectly made him more accessible to his family and friends. I believe that was a gift from God. My aunt and cousins are finding comfort in knowing he is with his daughter now.
Thank you for letting me share with you the man I knew and loved as my Uncle Bill.

To All,
I'm sorry I wasn't able to attend Tiger's service to be there for you all. But know that I was there in spirit. It is so clear how well loved your Dad/Husband/Grandfather was and is still. Hope that this thought and all the warm prayers bring you some comfort.
Love, Mary Ruth

To my grandfather,
I will always think of you as a fighter and a true hero. You were a great person and more importantly, a great grandfather. I wish everyone could have a great person like you in their lives. You will never be forgotten and I will love you always.
