Donald Airgood Obituary

Donald Lee (Don) Airgood, Jr. passed away Dec. 29, 2020.
He was born May 31, 1966, in Punxsutawney.
He graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1985, where he had been a standout noseguard on the football team. He also participated in wrestling and track; his specialty in track was shotput and discus.
Don went on to Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in physical education. He then went on to Slippery Rock University, where he was on the Judo team, after which he achieved a master's degree in rehabilitative science at Clarion University.
He became a counselor at Abraxas, while establishing his own practice in outpatient adult counseling. He became a partner in Aces High DJ Services, entertaining at many area clubs and special events. For most of his life, he engaged in competitive power lifting. Don was also a highly-rated electric dart champion.
He is survived by his brother, Chris, and his father, Donald Airgood, Sr.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen (Kerr) Airgood; his uncle, Edward S. Kerr; and his maternal grandparents, Emline and Edward S. Kerr.
There will be no service. Instead, the family hopes that those who knew Don will think of a time when he made them laugh, smile or think about something positive in their own lives.

I am so sorry to hear that Don died. I knew him as "Ogre". We were good friends , right after high school. It is strange because my mom and I were just talking about him a few nights ago. His mom Kathy made dinner for me and our friend Tommy and Don's brother , Chris, a couple times. I remember she made really good lasagna, and stuffed shells, and I remember Don gave me a Christmas Teddy Bear, it was dated 1987, and I still put that Teddy Bear out every year at Christmas time, and think of those fun memories. Gone way too soon. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

He admired Rocky & Rambo...Conan & Kirk...heroes and those often misunderstood. Rest, my friend...sword in hand....
