COAL VALLEY-Ellen C. Schnell, 74, of Coal Valley, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at U.P. Trinity, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10am, Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline. Visitation will be 4-6pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Ellen was born February 15, 1948 in Moline, the daughter of Alfred and Irene (Pyles) Brobst. She married Gary Schnell on April 5, 1968 in Rock Island.
Ellen worked for the former Seaford Clothing, Rock Island but she was most proud of being a homemaker.
Ellen enjoyed quilting, making rag rugs, playing bingo and treasured her time with her children and grandchildren who were the apples of her eye.
Survivors include her children, Louis (Jennifer) Schnell, Coal Valley, Rebecca Carpenter (Bryan Snell), New Windsor, IL, Harry Schnell (Evelyn Caulkins), Coal Valley and Raymond Schnell (Ilya Hawk), Coal Valley; grandchildren, Caleb, Joshua, Emily, Paige, Lily, Corbin and Connor; sister, Brenda Gilbert, WI and brother, Everette Brobst, Sr., TX. She was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Brocksieck.
