Fred Dean Kopp, 67, of Kewanee, Ill., passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at his home. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory – Atkinson Chapel. Pastor Terry Lancaster will officiate. Burial will take place at Floral Hill Cemetery in Neponset, Ill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kewanee Animal Shelter.

Fred was born on June 17, 1958, the son of Dean and Judy (Westervelt) Kopp in Princeton, Ill. He graduated from Neponset High School in 1976, and went on to obtain his Associates Degree in Diesel Mechanics from Blackhawk College in 1978. Fred married Debbie Boelens on October 17, 1981. He worked as a truck driver for Betcher Trucking in Annawan for over 30 years. Fred loved spending time with his grandchildren and dogs Bailey and Sadie. He collected tractors, specifically his Oliver Super 99 GM Diesel. Fred also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching NASCAR, and attending planes, trains, tractors, and automobile shows.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Judy Kopp of Kewanee, Ill.; wife, Debbie Kopp of Kewanee, Ill.; children, Lorelei (Greg) Ohlson of Mineral, Ill., Brandon (Tricia) Kopp of Kewanee, Ill., and Joshua Kopp of Kewanee, Ill.; sister, Dena (Brent) Huber of Kewanee, Ill.; grandchildren, Bentley, Marlee, Blake, Bella and Maelyn; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Dean Kopp; brother, Terry Kopp; sister, Brenda Kopp; and grandson, Masyn Kopp.
