Janet L. Vyneman, 92, of Atkinson, IL, passed away on March 21, 2024, peacefully at her home.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory-Atkinson Chapel. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 3:30 PM prior to visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church-Atkinson with Reverend S. Stephen Engelbrecht celebrating. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery-Atkinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Atkinson Fire and Rescue or the Donor's Choice.

Janet was born on August 17, 1931, in rural Atkinson, the daughter of Edmond and Elizabeth (VanVooren) DeDecker. She attended Galva and Atkinson schools, graduating from Atkinson High. She married Richard Vyneman on September 3, 1949, and they celebrated 63 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2012. Janet was a lifelong farm wife tending to the farm alongside Richard. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, where she was active in Altar and Rosary and the Resurrection Choir. Janet was also a member of Atkinson Women's Club, Western League, and was a Rolle Bolle World and State Champion. She loved sports, especially the Chicago Cubs, and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. You could always find her in the stands watching her grand and great-grandchildren's sports activities. Janet was an avid baker, famous for her chocolate chip cookies, which she shared with all her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters: Deb (Len) Franks of Annawan, Kathy Rakestraw of Mineral, Annette (Jeff) Morosko of Annawan, and Maureen (Joe) Hasbrook of Annawan; sister, Ruth Cambron of Kewanee; grandchildren: Tony Franks, Tracy (Joel) Hansen, Raquel Frankenreider, Shannon (Chelsea) Frankenreider, Kelsey Rakestraw, Heath (Sonia) Rakestraw, Tyler (Lisa) Morosko, Shane Morosko, Alyssa Morosko, Tory (Heather) VanOpdorp, Tara VanOpdorp-Goodwin; teo step-grandchildren: Jason (Andrea) Hasbrook and Kylee Hasbrook; great-grandchildren: Matthew and Dallas Franks, Logan, Brent and Vance Hansen, Peyton Frankenreider, Baylor, Charlie and Collins Frankenreider, Myla Rakestraw, Evelyn and Joaquin Favela, Archer and Bennett Morosko, Hailey and Kade VanOpdorp, Malachi Bailey, Tayler (MacKensie Steinert) Goodwin, Harper, Hayes and Hunter Hasbrook; and one great-great-grandchild, LaKynn Goodwin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Vyneman; parents, Edmond and Elizabeth DeDecker; son-in-law, Dave Rakestraw, siblings: Ione Hicks, Ralph "Bud" DeDecker and Jane Hamer; sisters-in-law: Frances Reider and Marlene Butler.
