EAST MOLINE-Nora L. Kornbrust, 90, East Moline, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Private family services will be held at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Animal Aid Humane Society, Moline, IL.
Nora Shew was born on August 30, 1930 in Marceline, MO, the daughter of Stephen and Fannie (Sprauge) Shew. She married J.C. Kornbrust on October 25, 1949 in Linneus, MO. He died June 12, 2012. Nora taught English as a second language at Black Hawk College. She loved studying language and teaching.
Survivors include her children; Judy Kornbrust, East Moline and Gary Kornbrust, East Moline, granddaughter, Alexandria (Ryan) Neujahr, great-grandchildren, Victoria and Mackenzie, nephew Larry Shew and his children Janice and Jessica.
She was preceded in death by her husband and siblings, Charley Shew and Stelona Asher.
